I want to preface this by saying that I am not entirely against AI, but I am someone who finds AI art to be very generic and boring on its own. I think AI can be used to enhance art, but still very much enjoy the creations of humans done mostly by their own merit and skill however the product turns out. I feel I am pretty nuanced on the situation, tldr.

However, what annoys me, are artists that are against AI in art but who also don't do commissions. This might be a greed thing, this is definitely a position born from my own experiences and frustration, but I feel like most artists are against general AI art, especially when its used for com work. But, I have then found many of said artists also not currently doing coms, and have not done them for years.

They are not slaves, they can sell their work at their own leisure. But if someone is coming and saying "I love your style, lets get a piece going, I would like to pay your rate"? Well its confusing. Especially when 5-6-7 people all at once have styles i enjoy, but none are currently accepting coms and aren't doing coms. What choice do you give people? To use artists they don't like the style and tbh skill of? People WILL turn to AI.
