Hey guys, I need some advice please!

At the start of the year I (26f) matched with this girl (25f) on hinge. We started texting and FaceTiming and it was really nice, we had similar interests and the same expectations in terms of dating — both looking something serious but open to all connections.

I eventually asked her out but she rescheduled both times, and ended up cancelling. I decided to leave the ball in her court, but she didn’t end up asking me out. A month goes by, we’re still texting and FaceTiming and I realise I don’t want to waste any more time being pen pals, so I spontaneously asked her if she’s free one evening and she was.

We went on the date, and it was so much fun, we had some good conversations and I really enjoyed her company! After I took her home, she messaged saying she had a good time and wants to do it again, then she randomly asked if I would sleep with her. I was quite surprised by this message since we’ve had numerous conversations about sex and our attraction toward each other. I said yes and she said she wanted to as well, she just wanted to make sure. (BTW we didn’t kiss on the date)

A few more weeks go by and her response times have been much slower and we aren’t calling as much. Once again, I ask her out on another date and it was a really good time again. Then when we were in the car, there was a lot of sexual tension and as I was about to lean in to kiss her, she randomly asks “when you said you would sleep with me, when do you envision that happening? And how? And in what way?” I was quite lost for words lol. It was quite awkward, I just laughed it off and said “we can let things happen naturally no?” And she said “okay I just wanted to ask”. Then she apologised if it came off creepy. Ofc the kiss didn’t happen lol so I just took her home.

After she messaged saying she had a good night, she doesn’t message me for a week. Fast forward to today, as I made my peace with possibly being ghosted, she then messages asking how I feel about just being friends. I don’t know what to think.

Now idk what to make of this scenario, perhaps she isn’t interested in me and I’m just not seeing it clearly but I’m just confused. Any insights guys?

Hey guys I need some advice please!!

I was bored at work one day and decided to look for PhDs that are of my interest and I found a couple that I loved. I applied to them without thinking much of it, and fast forward to now, I get an offer from one of them and I couldn't be happier. Here's the thing... the University is low ranking, but the project itself is perfect for me and I really like the supervisor and the team. The supervisor is quite young but her research is fascinating and she has done a lot within her time. It is also fully funded (yay!).

In terms of future goals, I'd like to leave that open ended. Right now, I would prefer to stay in the industry and perhaps go into consultancy, however, I wouldn't mind staying in academia and focusing on research too if the opportunities come.

Before I make any further decisions, are you guys please able to give me an insight into this? Is it worth applying for other PhDs instead? I'm quite torn.

For context - this is UK and I'm a UK applicant!
