I opened an Ally spending account, made a cash deposit, set up direct deposit, and received my Ally debit card all within about a week.

I searched and found mixed information about whether venmo works with ally. Looking for information that is relevant now. Can I send money from my spend account via Venmo to a friend? Is it instant? Any help would be appreciated.

So..... Tried to open a sofi account today, specifically interested in the ability to go from an individual spending account to a joint account with minimal fuss. They took all my info, had me scan drivers license and do a selfie, then sent me an email saying they couldn't open an account for me.

I then applied for an Ally account, and was instantly approved. They also allow you to add someone to your account. Problem solved.

Fuck Sofi.
