Why do some Asian Elephants have lighter patches of skin?

pictured in the first photo, I am curious why some Asian Elephants have these areas of lighter skin, often speckled with darker bits, while others don’t have them at all. It seems different subspecies have this more commonly than others from the images I’ve seen, with Sri Lankan elephangs having it the most. Is it a genetic thing, or an indicator of age, etc etc? I think these patches are beautiful and remind me of my own birth marks, so I’ve always been curious about this

New and Remodeled Plants

the animals have (rightfully) been getting all the attention in the PZ2 hype, so I wanted to ask what new plants are you hoping to see in PZ2 that werent in the original game, or what plants you believe should get a model facelift/new varieties. this can extend to corals and mushrooms btw (even tho they aren’t plants)

my personal choices - i think kelp would be a great addition for the aquarium, itd be perfect for both seals and fish. for a remodel, i think the water hyacinth could be upgraded a bit, alongside the recent hippo model upgrade we saw as the perfect African waterways duo

Is it worth spending research points on lesser upgrades?

What I am asking is do these upgrades stack - like, if I buy Ecosystem Support, will my chance to find silver eggs still go up? It doesn't seem that way but I wanted to double check just in case. Thanks!

If exhibits are revamped in PZ2, how would you want the system to work?

I have seen a lot of people talk about a potential exhibit revamp with the new aviaries and aquariums, but not a lot of talk about how that revamp actually might work. Whether a new system is likely or not, how would yall want it to work? Would you want something like Prehistoric Kingdom, or simply a miniaturized version of the exhibit system already present, or do you like the current version? etc etc. Excited to hear yalls ideas!

Who else is already planning their PZ2 zoos?

Pretty much what the title says lol. I want to hear all your guys ideas and concepts for your PZ2 zoos (even tho we only have one trailer lol). For example, I really want to build a cool tropical dome with Toco Toucans and Golden Tamarins (maybe in sandbox bc they don’t live super close). So what exhibits are you guys already excited to build?

PZ2 guest and animal interactions

I am really hoping to have more ways guests can actually interact with the animals, besides telling me “The view from here is not great” lol. Specifically, stuff like fruit feeding stations in aviaries for parrot and other tropical birds, touch tanks for stingrays and similar aquatic species, and maybe even educator events where guests can hold exhibit animals and learn more about them like ambassador animals. Thoughts?

The Great Builders

The Great Builders, or Chopol'ok as they are called amongst themselves, are a sophont species of hornbill that can reach heights of up to 7 feet. They are a isolated and ancient race, with individuals capable of reaching maximum ages of 800+. They use this time to pursue my world's magic system, wherein ingesting certain ingredients can give different magical abilities (this is because all of the living things in the realm were actually once apart of a god). While this can take the form of magical meals, enhancing tattoos and more, the Chopol'ok will uniquely smoke ingredients to ingest them, enhancing the potency in their crests and then expelling it through their nose to use very powerful elemental abilities. A single Great Builder can construct an entire house of tree and mud in mere minutes using such power, and if angered, heavens own lightning answers their call.

They currently call the Holds their home, which are huge cities of mud and root intertwined using the before mentioned element bending. It is said the Builders are capable of moving in between these Holds using the rootways, traveling trips that would take months in only a few days. It is necessary to travel with a Builder if one enters the rootways, as without them, it is guranteed you will get lost amongst the ferns and vines.

These guys are kind of my projects elves, as they are super elusive and barely ever interact with the humans. I hope yall like the Chopol'ok!
