Good day! I'm an experienced seafarer and have been at least for at least 13 years already and was hoping that I'd change job to any niche of VA. I know I have no experience in VA, but I consider myself an above average in using a computer, either Excel(usage of formulas) or Writing(novel writing), and I type really fast (something I learned when I was still in highschool).

I know it's not something clients are looking for, but I could start there, right? Anyway, I was hoping anyone here have at least tried to change careers like what I'm planning and could give me a heads up.

My salary is already high as a seafarer, but for now I just want to be with my family while still surviving. I'm tired of leaving them alone for months.

▲ 3 r/GERD

It's been weeks now that I've experienced a sharp pain that lasts only a few seconds right in the middle left part of my chest, around the left part of the sternum, and it occurs mostly right after eating. I knew in my own mind that it was a simple Acid Reflux or GERD. But sometimes, I get this feeling of having Esophageal Cancer since it was the same description as what my close friend, may God bless his soul, shared with me just a year before he died from it.

The worst part about me having this is that I'm onboard a vessel, working, and I can't work well with this feeling. So, what I did a month ago, I told the Captain and had an online medical check-up. I told the doctor my symptoms, and he told me to take Cimetidine at least two times a day for ten days. So, I did.

The symptoms were immediately gone, but the gas pain got worse. I kept burping from every food I take. The pain in the middle left sternum was gone though.

BUT after the treatment was done, it ended four days ago already, the pain in the middle chest is back. And I'm scared to death onboard this vessel.

Anyone have this kind of experience? Anyone know something that could help me clear my mind?
