Cleveland Temple Dedication & D&C 109

Cleveland Temple Dedication & D&C 109

I watched this YouTube video

https://youtu.be/4JDrUYnSLng?is=7VFgSdr-tY0Glkwq

by KSL. I thought the headline about "Prophecies Fulfilled" was interesting so I went to go read the original Kirtland Temple Dedication Prayer (aka D&C 109).

In this section it mentions to seek learning by study and by faith out of the best books. Thinking about the evolution of temples from the School of the Prophets, to the Kirtland Temple, Nauvoo, SLC, and so on, I realize that a central theme to these structures is a room or rooms with rows of benches very similar to a chapel.

I'm just wondering why don't we (general membership) have meetings in the temple like they did in the early days of the church? I guess it sort of feels to me like a piece of the restoration has been lost. It's like the "instruction room" of the temple has become a sort of vestigial part of our temple practice/ceremonies.

This isn't meant to be a criticism so I apologize if it comes off that way. For me is it a wistful question or a righteous hunger to understand this specific piece of the plan of salvation more fully.

Seeking Advice

If you were to give me any advice what would it be? Whether the advice is tailored to me or not doesn't matter.

What would you do?

Suppose God and/or Christ came to you in a vision, like Joseph Smith, or Noah, or any of the prophets, and from that vision you knew things, truths, but when you shared them no one or very very few would actually listen to you, like Joseph Smith, or Noah, etc.

What would you do?

At what point would you stop sharing the message? When, if ever, you begin to agree or covenant with God to give the world a learning lesson? Like a child who can't understand or doesn't listen to the truth that touching a hot stove will hurt.

Does any of this seem relevant to current global, national, or even your family/individual events?

Is Disclosure Day a version of the Endowment?

A friend recently recommended that I watch the movie Disclosure Day. I saw it and afterward we had a discussion in which my friend said they thought the movie was a version of the Endowment. I don't want to spoil the movie so I won't go into any details but I am wondering what you all think about that.

Jesus, Mary, and the 144,000

A friend recently made a comment to me about the 144,000 mentioned in Revelation 14:4. This verse says the 144,000 "were not defiled with women; for they are virgins". I looked up the term Virgin in the Guide to the Scriptures study help which says, "In the scriptures, a virgin may represent someone who is morally clean (Rev. 14:4)"

So my question is if this could mean Mary the Mother of Jesus was "morally clean" before the birth of Christ. Since we know Jesus had brothers and sisters. For example James the Just was the brother of Jesus.
