I’ve spent a good amount of money in the past few days with a guy who was mixing by music in a studio. He charges by the hour. I recorded a 2 1/2 minute song, knowing all the lyrics and the cadence perfectly.

He said he wanted me to go line for line so he could “clean up the vocals”

After each line, it sounded like he was putting it in reverse, while it made sort of a washing sound

Felt like he was wasting time but idk anything about mixing.

Does anyone know if he was wasting time or is there an actual thing he was doing?

I took a drug test recently that screened me positive for a specific substance. The cut off was 20ng/mL. But the confirmation said that I had 15ng/mL of this substance in my system.

Would this not be considered a negative result since I was below the original cutoff?

And because I was below the cutoff, should a confirmation not have even occurred in the first place?

If there is a specific cutoff, and the amount in my system falls below that cutoff, then it should not be “screened positive” because that defeats the entire purpose of said cut off.

Please correct me if I’m wrong.
