We purchased a 2025 Mini Cooper at an auction. It was on a collision with 3 airbags deployed. Engine starts without issues but engine is stuck in park. The center console switch cluster does not light up which prevents from shifting gears. Display gives message stating "driving not possible" and another that states "drivetrain error".

Cleared some error codes with Bimmerlink but the cluster switch continues dead. In the process of replacing airbags and belt pretensioner.

Any advice on what's the troubleshooting step might be?

Fuses checked and some were replaced.

Do these even have a pyrofuse?

My husband purchased this 2025 Mini Cooper from an auction for me for mother's day!

As seen in the photos, the collision is to the right front side with only cosmetic damage. Problem is that it doesn't drive!

Turns on but will not shift into any gear. We checked the fuses and they all check out. 12V battery checked and does have and retain charge. We did notice that the battery is not OEM.

Another thing we noticed is that the switch cluster does not light up and none of the buttons work except the ignition.

We connected an OBD 2 and did give various errors. We are waiting on veepeak to be delivered tomorrow.

Can it be just battery registration was not done?

Any other ideas on what to look into?
