cyberpunk meets warriors

i was on a 6 hour flight today and decided i wanted to do a cyberpunk meets warriors piece

so heres silverpaw, i geuss a former kittypet named johnny who left his cozy twoleg home to fight for a real cause.

didnt write much for the uhm... silver.. paw yet but just assume his paw was damaged in a fight and was replaced with a cybernetic arm

for people who dont know, in the cyberpunk TTRPG/video game universe, robbert john linder, aka johnny silverhand was an ex military rockerboy who in the video game acts as one of the best if not the best side charecter. ill add a photo of him for reference.

oh and btw took 3.5 hours for anyone wondering

i am about to fly a long distance in a few days for moving reasons and i wanna see if i can draw a little on the two flights

problem is that i am still in the phase of using actual cats for my artwork as references but also you know what ill just admit it, i am not so good with freestyling do about 83%ish of my works copy the reference and focus instead on color combinations do yeah i am wondering what i should do before my flight i have till about aug 19 to make a plan

btw i feel i should say i am not an adult so yknow i dont have any option that costs money or smth like that

can a modified dog work to pose a cat?

(this isnt a test of my skill this is a question)

dogs and cats have fairly similar anatmoy, however there are also many differences, assuming one knew what looked wrong vs right, could a dog be used to help drawing a cat

i ask this because i prefer to draw larger cats, stuff like maine coons but well i dont have a cat, usualy i solve that bu using real life references but i do have a dog so i wonder if a correctly modified dog could work in a way for the warrior cats style or if it would flop harder than said dogs ears.

Question about an idea i have for my fanclan

if you dont want to hear yapping ill start with a question.

is it ok for an apprentice to join a new clan, and be apprenticed by medicine cat ghosts?

for those who want more heres some context.

i just made a fanclan called twilightclan, i noted that for a new clan i wanted a deputy and medicine cat to start, followed by any rouges and kittypets or outcasts from the clans that they could train.

twilightstar is my charecter, hes my warriorsona, and i found that recently i had made a artwork that fit my criteria for a deputy in my eyes, thats darklight. that left me with a medicine cat charecter. for extra context, unnamed medicine cat isnt from thunderclan or shadowclan and was an apprentice who left to join twilightclan by the will of starclan. darklight is similar except well hes from shadowclan not much to add.

so knowing this i thought about realism, i think we can all agree that sticking to the source material to a certain extent gets you better adjusted to the universe/setting, so i thought the unnamed medicine cat should be trained by starclan ghosts as to me it made the most sense.

i am still arc 2 before the move (i feel i should clarify that the setting will be in the lake territory so i can kinda give reactions in my writing to what i am reading about, dosent matter to this case though) so i am unaware of any cats that were taught explicitly by starclan alone.

so for 1, has this happened before, if yes, awesome no need for question 2

and 2, if it hasnt happened yet before, do you guys think it fits that warriors style?

thanks in advance! :3

finished my first ever warriorsona!

say hi to twilightstar of twilightclan, suggestions and constructive criticism are welcomed, also FYI i designed this to be expandable, there is still much canvas to be filled here.

first time doing a reference sheet, first time making a custom clan, second custom clan symbol, and first time doing a pallette, sry for my horendous handwriting.

bye :3

warriorsona question WIP

so this is a followup to my previous post i made like 3 days ago.

for those that havent seen my previous post heres the idea

recently i saw sombody else post their warriorsona to the subreddit, i took a big dose of inspiration just from seeing it so i decided to make my own

so for now introducing the half completed concept for twilightstar, the first leader of twilightclan

note theres much to add ans take from this and i purposely gave myself much more space as to expand upon it in the future, and i thought this would be my biggest project yet but i am actualy approaching 4 hours but a stylis realy has made the difference

anyways i want to know what you guys think of this charevter, when i make the final post ill make a different post attached to it breaking down twilightstar and all his stuff

before i go i want to also know how good is the concept of twilightclan in your guys opinions.

twilightclan is almost like the special forces of the warriors universe, started by twilightgaze now twilightstar because of a prophecy laid by starclan. he was originaly a deputy of thunderclan under firestars leadership. the idea of twilightclan is that it allows any cat that dosent feel like they belong in their original clans, loners, and kittypets too, to be accepted among the most elite of forrest cats, however they dont just fight a border skirmish or a clan attack, they are the absolute last resort, and have all and no allies, they are neutral unless all clans are facing the same threat, think lionclan and the battle of bloodclan in the first arc, thats where these cats come in. if per say a kittypet like rusty decided to try to hunt in twilightclan territory they wouldnt be attacked or shooed off, they would be taught how to actualy catch prey as to not warn off prey in the future, they dont even have to join. the idea would be that a cat thats not of twilightclan has a few options, either go away or learn a little something, and then ask for permission to hunt. twilightclan accepts any cat with any need, medical problem? they will be treated.

anyways thats what i have now, give or take a few parts so tell me what you think! :3

first time trying to hand sketch a cat

i am posting every picture. theres reasons i have this many and i know you guys would say its a controversial process but lemme explain.

ok i am no necesarily new, but i am new to hand sketching, usualy i just copy a cat i find online, this time i did that but not directly, instead i observed the reference and made changes that suited what i liked. but most of this was either hand drawn, or eyeballed off of a reference, only part of the face was copied because i got stuck.

anyways to teh controversial part. AI. i always saw AI as a tool, you can obviously see i didnt generate this artwork, what i instead do when i am learning or stuck is talk with gemini and kinda step through the process together. i am most definately aware this is very controversial but please dont get angry.

what i can bet is you are probably like "why not watch a tutorial video or use a reference image" my rebuttal, tutorials arent realy my thing, i hate to follow set instructions, and i find it hard to remember things. and in terms of reference images, well i already use them. i use AI to assist me, not to make the art.

anyways sorry about that. if you have suggestions for me please comment them, this is a big change for me, switching from shooting for realistic shading and stuff to learning how to draw poses by myself and kinda also going for the more warrior cats style of artwork.

thank you

i cant make a decision so i need you guys to help me out.

alright before i begin i am gonna show the last couple artworks i made so i can get thorough. all charecters are meant to be original and arent intended to copy someones original work.

darklight is one i made yesterday and ahs no background.

amberstar was a gift for a person i am partnering with

dusklight was the first OC me and the partner made together.

i must give credit to the person who made amberstar and the person who aided with dusklight so shoutout to u/LuneveilWC

ok so its time i fessed up, all these charecters, awesome the problem is that i have gotten to the bad habbit of copying my references and that leaves me going down 2 paths.

path A I continue using ny reference and get very realistic looking cats but at the cost of less effort and not being able to do any pose i want them in

or

path B I spend a ton of time learning how to draw cats with little to no references at all. its making a big commitment to get better results at the cost of time and most likely my sanity.

i cant come to my own conclusion and need your input.

thank you

linguistics question

i have started to finaly work on an AU/Fanfic idk what to call it yet, its a mix of both anyways i will try and keep this short. a big part of warriors imo is the language, twolegs kittypets ect add to the language and story of these books, i want to replicate that, however i tend to think about dpecific phrases that i label as "inplausible" for example the cats wont ever say "oh my god" because for us we say it because we have a idea of god, in terms of cats, i am not as sure. some things make more sense like "praise starclan!" instead of "dear god!" but theres also ones that leave me confused, i still know nothing about the dark forrest because i am on arc 2 but i tend to partly think that phrases like hell and dark forrest are interchangeable but i also heavily doubt it.

ok with that over here comes the question, could you guys give me some phrases you think dont fit warriors for any reason, and i mean like the powerful exlaiming words like again "praise starclan!"? it seriously would help!

Oluso art

theoreticaly this aint oluso, its nightspirit, an OC i made for warrior cats but based on olusos likeness, obviously, hell me what ya think, i am onky a casual artist and self taught, this took between 2-3 hours, it was fun and is a massive difference from my beiginnings.

u/Glum-Bat4747 — 2 months ago

How?

i am still, very, and when i say this, VERY! new to drawing cats, i have around 12ish pieces, this one is my twelth, and i went from the first two pictures, to this, in the span of about a couple weeks where i taught myself when i was actualy doing art.

now you may notice similar names nightspirit and nightspirit are not to be confused as they are the same OC, pic 2 nightspirit was my first ever rendition of a cat, pic 3 is my newest one, i just finished it and am proud of myself, at first the brighter blue tones looked horrible but now that its done i am astonished, heck i am bringing picture 4 as my reference for picture 3

u/Glum-Bat4747 — 2 months ago

this might be controversial but is arc 2 meant to be this boring

ok before arc 2 supporters come after me i get it, its realy good or something like that, but uhm the picture i posted explains itself, its a picture of my notes, over 40 days of looking at it and not reading, in my defense in those days i worked on warriors art but didnt even touch it. idk i know i am on moonrise still but i had arc 1 in around 6-8 weeks and i am already reaching the former end of that scale within two books of arc 2.

now again i feel like i didnt use the right words to describe my thoughts, i dont think its boring, but q bit overwhelming, constantly switching perspectives, especialy at good moments is (pardon ny french) fkn bs, no no no, stop i dont want more leafpaw perspective when we are about to see the main charecters encounter an actualy interesting situation. i get its "so that we get thunderclans perspective" and sure some scenes are interesting, but leafpaws perspective is the equivalent of a secondary, background, or filler plot in an episode of a show, literaly has nothing to do with whats going on in the main plot and like one of the descriptors, just filler. thats how leafpaws perspective has felt because i feel like i could have geussed the clans reaction when the two "troublemakers" leave camp for an extended period of time!

to close this off i understand i am only less than 30% through this arc and am just now starting to read the second book again, but seriously i am already missing one perspective that has multiple problems, instead of the single problem with all different perspecives. i will stop before i dig myself a hole about 6 feet deep, 6 feet long, and 3 feet wide.

How has your main OC affected your art

before you asked, i labled this as "OC" instead of "question because the main premesce is to share my newest piece.

without holding back any longer i introduce nightspirit, he was my first OC and i love to draw him because each time its watching myself learn something new

before i break down my artwork i want to explain, my original inspiration of nightspirit was oluso. olsuo is a "ghost panther" from far cry 6, its my favorite companion qnd one day i wanted to draw warriors and that was my pnly original idea. in my mind nightspirit is a younger warrior in thunderclan with a resembalence of a panther while being maine coon sized to match his mate (different OC) so i do not have a assigned breed yet but i am fine with that. without further adoo, the artwork.

the first piece i made (pic 1) was actualy my first ever cat, i like to look back on this to remember my roots, even though i am still new i am still shocked that i was able to make him look decent. at this stage he was meant to realisticaly resemble oluso, not legitamately be him so thats why his fur is more gray than blue.

my second piece with/of nightspirit (pic 2) was the first time i drew nightspirit from a reference i took myself inside far cry 6. not much to point out however.

my third piece with/of nightspirit (pic 3) was a large milestone for me. not only was it my second time drawing 2 cats together, but i also learned a lot about how to manipulate the bodies of cats in my references to help me achieve more of a warriors physique (the regerence cats where... large to say the least) and in the end even if the goal to have fun, i was still proud of myself that i included maplegaze (his mate) and nightspirit together in this piece.

finaly the last two pictures, my newest piece. I am... i am seriously reconsidering my skills, maybe to a more advanced artisit it dosent seem to hard, but i was suprised that I... still very new to drawing cats, taught myself how to do that. every detail is so great! the reference (pic 4) was of oluso of course. i want to add on, I did take art class back in middle school but i remeber us doing a singular digital artwork asdignment so all the skills i learned are either scavenged from what i understand about physical art, (such as its best to start with the darkest colors first and then transition into lighter colors for shading) but honestly thats my favorite thing about this, i didnt just draw straight lines, i actualy incorperated shading techniques. another one of the newer things i have been trying is lightly using a white and black airbrush on either side to bring out the details.

please tell me how i did, i love to hear suggestions and sorry for my rant, ADHD brain got to me.

u/Glum-Bat4747 — 2 months ago

I have 2 main OCs and the title isnt long enough to explain this

ok i have 2 main OCs (wow its like the title said that) ill show you the artwork i have made of them

Nightspirit was my first, thats why he changed so much, he was based on oluso from far cry 6, a ghost panther cat, i an certain its chonocial ingame that its a she cat but there info otherwise, thats besides the point as i made him a tom and an undisclosed breed as i havent decided shrunk down panther breed yet of thunderclan

later on i found out about maine coons, nowadays i freakin love these massive furballs and they give me great inspiration, and then came maplegaze. a she cat maine coon of thunderclan. my first piece of her is my favorite but i love her charecter no matter what because she was one of the charecters i used to experiment with styles hence why her design can be considered inconsistent.

anyways after drawing their original renditions i had a week of artblock mainly from studying for exams, but then i thought, why not make a story, and have them in a relationship. at first it didnt realy stick, but then i slowly made a story and i dcided, why not make them mates?

after i made them mates i made one of my favorite pieces second to the og maplegaze artwork and i made it my Pfp because its the one with them together their tails curled

anyways you may ask why i am sharing this, honestly i am not realy sure, but theres some things i could ask help with

first i am still new so if you spot a serious mistake that is a common mistake i make please feel free to point it out

second if you could help me figure out a breed for nightspirit that would be cool, for context he is maine coon size but not a maine coon, more or less inheriting a panther style appearance

to end this off ill include photos of my references for some of the pieces and for a new piece i am planning to make of nightspirit! (last photo)

How exactly do people share AUs?

i feel ny question is fairly straightforward, but i am wondering if people share their AUs or if they are just generaly seen as their own work to enjoy for themselves

i would say i am working on one, but i havent created enough charecters yet because i like to yse my OCs and i also have been procrastinating the writing of my AU for now so i am just wondering for whenever i actualy get to doing that

a question i have stumbled upon

i am wondering if warriors is one of those series that menatly/physicaly changes you IRL i am not sure but since i started reading warriors my mind has transformed into this creative space for writing an AU and making OCs but also the way i act is different, lately i have seen myself as a "cat" not in the "your a furry!" way, just in a heavily moderated and because of interest kind of way. i know that sounds weird but my body and mind has naturaly found that i enjoy portraying my charecters sometimes as its like my creative spark plug is ignited when i do that.

has warrior cats had a similar effect on any of you? or is this just me?

so just as a note/add on i am still fairly young and in my teen years so i understand if this is "just a phase" or "experimenting" to many

redrawing my OC but younger!

maplegaze was my first OC i realy took a lot of pride in, i just got my first stylus so i drew maplepaw

i tried to make her look younger but not too sure how it turns out for you guys

tell me what you think!

u/Glum-Bat4747 — 2 months ago

Making a maplepaw, apprentice version of my OC maplegaze,

maplegaze/paw is a maine coon of thunderclan she has dark ginger fur with tortiseshell cream patches (i am working on the descriptors i promise

i had just gotten my first stylus so i wanted to draw maplegaze as she is my favorite warrior i draw

her fur is also supposed to be a less saturated color because of biology but i am not sure might have messed that up

i also used a light airbrush of white on the right and black on the left

mainly this was an experimentation for my charecter

I included maplegaze so you can see the difference

tell me what you think!

u/Glum-Bat4747 — 2 months ago

first time posting here, heres a new OC i just made

introducing frostmane (first picture) he is thunderclan, and i havent made much story for him yet but i like to draw these giant fluffy cats such as maine coons and now siberian cats, if you guys know of any fluffy giants i could take inspiration from i would love it.

Also these arent new charecters (pic 2+) but they are the main focal point of an AU i am working on, basically all you need to know is that we have a maine coon base for maplegaze, and a panther base for nightspirit (you can see who is who obviously but refer to pics 3 & 4 for convinience), they are relatively the same younger maine coon size and it dives deep into their lore i dont want to tell again plus this isnt the right place i would assume to tell my story of these charecters, if you realy want to see it, one of my newer posts to the standard warrior cats subreddit has a good bit of their story so far, look for pic 2 if you do that!

goodnight/day!

u/Glum-Bat4747 — 3 months ago

A new day a new warrior for thunderclan

not much of a backstory this time, i just want more OC's for my AU of 2 other charecters and so i made frostmane. I based him off of a siberian cat, I tend to love drawing these massive fluffy ahh cats like maine coons, and siberians so if you have any suffestions of large cats i could draw i would love to hear it!
