Discuss about subscription costs

So my SaaS got now a few users which I’m currently writing a lot with as test users

In a group they brought up to delete that free tier, only paid plans

It’s a subscription cancel prevention, dunning recovery and all over churn prevention tool, which currently has a free tier with commission based on cancel saved subscribers

What’s your opinion?

Hello Together

I’m a founder of a few smaller subscription based services, full online

I’ve been dealing lately with a churn rate of ~6-8% Monthly, which looked not that big of a deal, but in numbers we’re in the 4-digits.

I’m seeking to reduce it and came across tools like Churnkey, which is expensive, and Getretainly.app, which offers a free plan with commission based on saved subs. Both tools are self serviced and offer professional payment dunning service, get-back service for subscribers who canceled in the last 90 Days and so on

Now I’m generally curios, does any of you know those, are there anyone who has expertise in this field or a honest review of self use?

I’ve seen that there is a great community for a tool I’ve build, but no one seems to understand how it really works in the end ( it’s not that hard, it’s a subscription cancelling save and payment dunning tool with a few side features) , even if there is a complete explanation so I’m thinking about building a complete Sandbox for Trial runs of the feature in my Main Page, so that users can test the way it could work for a part of the tool (main part) direct upfront

Does anyone has thoughts about it?

I’m wondering why everyone’s focus heavy on marketing for new users, but don’t care about users who are already on their system?

That’s a general question because tools like Churnkey(only paid plan) or Retainly (full service free & paid plan) are easy to install, normally in like 15-20 minutes?

I’m mean, reaching out constantly to new possible customers can be very reassure burning, but reducing your subscription cancelling or payment dunning could be that easy.

Also, reaching out to old, maybe cancelled subscribers to reactivate is an easy way to get customers back. Only show them, that you’re still there

Nearly nobody is asking the customers, why they’re cancelling to receive feedback? It’s also a big point I’ve seen at nearly none SaaS tool.

I hope someone can explain why because it could be that easy

Hey together
I’m a SaaS founder, mid twenties. Build one fairly profitable (3k+ MRR), lost it because marketing was hard and churn was harder.

Churnbuster or Churnkey where to expensive for me to start. This is why I build my own.

Now I’m in the feedback stage, hope community can help. Tool works fine, and free to use, no base pay. Only performance based for starters, which is what I would needed in my situation. Same features as competitors, maybe even better ones. Worked long hours on it

Honestly feedback welcome
