Moving here :)

Hi!

I wanted to make a post to say my husband and I plan to move to Natick in January and we are so excited. We will have an almost 2 year old, and a newborn when we move. When we visited Massachusetts for the first time 6 years ago, we knew it was the place for us. Finally, it’s become our reality. We’ll be house hunting in the fall. We can’t wait to explore the town and raise our kids here. If anyone has any favorite spots, kids activities, or general advice for newcomers I’d love to hear it. :)

Hemangiosarcoma

My 11 year old Australian shepherd had a lump on her back that was red. The vet removed it last week, and said it was much larger than anticipated with finger like projections so the incision is quite large. Today, I got the call that it is Hemangiosarcoma. My vet said she wouldn’t suggest chemo, due to my dog’s age and the likelihood of it only adding a few months to her life. She said she got 3-5 mm margins. But, she seemed quite sure it had likely already spread despite those margins. She suggested 2 herbal supplements. She mentioned 3-6 months a few times. My question is, if she got the clear margins, is it truly very unlikely that it was completely removed? I was so stunned and sad, I didn’t even think to ask questions.

Newborn in winter

I’m due with my second baby the first week of January. I had my first in March in Southern California, so we have always had very mild weather with her. We’re planning a cross country move to Massachusetts at the end of January (I know, I know… bad timing). I’ve never had a baby in cold weather! Any and all tips & tricks from you cold weather parents are appreciated :) dressing, walks, baby gear, literally anything!
