Is it self deprecating or self depreciating?
What is correct, or the difference, or can they both be used interchangeably? I’m referring to someone trying to be humble and putting themselves down in a funny way. I always get these 2 words mixed up.

I have 3 cats, one is overweight, bossy and loves food, Lucy.
The other two are borderline underweight (both very slow eaters. One has most of their teeth removed, the other was recently seen but has an appointment to get most of their teeth removed). They also love to come and go with eating (while Lucy eats a bunch at once), making the refereeing part longer than 10 minutes
They all have unlimited dry (bc the 2 skinny cats) but every morning an extra 10 minutes is added to my daily routine to referee the wet food. If I really don’t have time I’ll lock the fat one in the basement for 10 minutes so the slow eaters can eat which my friend said was mean but idk any other ideas.
If I don’t referee, this is what happens: there are 3 plates with wet food, Lucy will go around to each, biting the other cats ears, getting them to move, shell AS FAST AS SHE POSSIBLY CAN gobble up the food from each plate, spending 15 seconds on one plate then going to the next, blocking out other cats, and then because she ate way too quick to get the most food, she’ll throw everything up. Her lab values last vet visit were fine, she’s young with no issues, except she’s just a jerk.
When she’s not around I’ll sneak opening up cans of wet food (cough really loud when I open it, etc), but she hears cats licking food from a mile away and comes running
Is locking the fat one in the basement for 10 minutes being a bad cat parent? I can’t tell. Anyone have any other ideas?
It’s happened my whole life, never touched any drug other than caffeine and maybe alcohol very rarely at like weddings. First retail job when I was a teen I got accused of being on coke, I remember that week, I’m just an upbeat chipper person and had a cold and snuffled a lot. I found out via a coworker, I guess a customer came up and was like “that one lady is something huh” and made a remark about drugs. My coworker defended me saying I was the most innocent person there and thought it was funny and told me. Well it happens everywhere I go. Most recently at a gas station. Found out employees were going to call the cops on me.
I’ve seen therapists and have only been diagnosed with social anxiety disorder and adhd. I get overly excited randomly but I also tend to mumble (social anxiety had me not speak much and sometimes I’d catch myself slurring/stuttering (while 100% sober) I went to speech therapy and everything) which helped a lot. Anyway I’m a bit tired of people thinking I’m drunk or on crack
