Previously sleeptrained ~3yo suddenly waking up 4-5 x a night crying
I have a boy that turns three in July this year he has been a good sleeper since he was a baby, and we did cried out method at six months after which he has slept through the night excluding small regressions here and there. However, we moved him to a big boy bed about a month ago. First, he slept great in the new bed with no issues and he generally stays in bed and does not climb out of it at all at night. However he has started to wake up and cry at night, 4 to 5 times every night. He has been hard to console when that happens and he seems disoriented and genuinely upset or sad each time that happens. We have tried to use the boring parent method when addressing this crying by going in his room and being very boring and uninteresting, but still reassuring that we are here and he’s safe. However, the night wakings are just getting worse and more frequent and we are kind of out of options what to do. It doesn’t seem like the boring parent method works. Also he’s too young to understand that one time nightly pass that I’ve seen suggested in many places. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? What we could try or do here we really need to return to good sleep we are so tired.
