22 years of play, scratch golfer, tournament winner - Zero Hole in One, anyone else?

Just got of the course with 2 mates and witnessed a HiO by one of my mates. Been playing with him for around 5 years and witnessed him making 3 hole in ones during that time.

Witnessed a hole in one from the other mate earlier this year aswell. This started a conversation about HiO, one mate claimed that it was his 4th in 8 years of playing ( I mean I witnessed 3 myself by him, so 4 seems very obviously doable). Other mate is playing for 4 years and had two Hole in Ones (I witnessed one of them, so yeah very plausible).

I myself has never shot a HiO, often came close but never got one. Never an albatross either, countless eagles and a few hole-outs from a 100y or closer. Been playing for 22 years, won some rather high level amateur tournaments, personal Best Round is 65, playing Off scratch Handicap comfortably. I also play an absolute shitton, as much as you can with working full time honestly (Average is probably 45-54 holes a week).

So my question is: can anyone beat this or is anyone playing for a stupid short time and already had one? It really doesn‘t bother me that much, it‘s just a funny statistic.

Another Link Headcover Magnet Post sorry

My Link 2.1 headcover absolutely infuriates me, love the Putter though. The magnets in the headcover seem to Move freely in the headcover, causing it to not being able to close and sitting extremely loose ok the club. You can kind of squeeze them into the proper position with extreme fiddling, but this only lasts for minutes.

I saw that they sell a Link headcover with velcro, unfortunately I am located in the EU (Germany), is anybody aware of a european reseller or even better of a solution for the headcover magnets?

PING migration of Order platform- delays?

Ordered a custom G440 Max 7 Wood on the 9th of June. Was supposed to be delivered in 10-15 days. The rep reached out Last Week and said PING is currently „migrating their platform“ which might cause hefty delays on orders.

Not too bothered about it, but of course once you ordered something you really want to have it in your hands. Also because I waited quite some time to jump on the 7 wood bandwagon, but now I‘m really eager to try it on the course. Hit some pretty interesting shots during the fitting that could really be an alternative to my 2/3 iron.

Anyone else had any Experience on G440 orders in June and that supposed migration of their platform?

I‘m in EU if that‘s of help.

After 2 seasons of casually trying, I broke 80 using one Club only (Scratch Golfer) - What would you pick?

2 seasons ago, a friend and I started a little side challenge - break 80 with a single club. I was around a 2.5ish Handicap then and am pretty confidently around scratch now.

I‘ve tried a lot of irons ( 2 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7). 7 and 6 seemed impossible, course is simply too long, I suppose.

I came kind of close with 4 and 5 sometimes and managed to shoot 81 with the 2 iron twice. I was confident 2 Iron would be the club - Long Off the tee, very safe at every distance pretty much. Bunkers are a deathtrap though.

Yesterday me and the friend attempted it again and shared a Club he just bought. A Callaway Ai Smoke 9 Wood. I‘m not a big fan of woods or hybrids myself, I regularly only carry Driver+3 Wood , all irons from there.

I Hit 25 balls on the Range and immediately thought „holy shit what even is this Club“. I‘ve read about the PW from 200 yards here and there, but that‘s actually what it is. Super fun to hit and very versatile. Managed to Secure a 240 yard carry of the tee by putting it back in the stance but could also hit various types of approach shots from so many distances too. It‘s also somehow amazing for chipping.

End of the day, I Shot a 79 , he Shot an 83. had to Chip backwards out of a steep bunker, otherwise a lower score would‘ve been even possible.

Have you tried this? What did you use, what would you choose? Very fun challenge I can only recommend, i think you would be surprised by your score!

Edit: should‘ve mentioned: 6900 yards from the Tees we played and we used the Titleist AVX instead of our usual balls to try and combat high Launch and possible ballooning of the 9 wood. Probably worth noting :)

Just Imagine this was The ending to The Boys

It would take balls to have the show end like this, but my god would it be fucking cool.
