Ideal routine

I’ve been realizing lately that I probably need to change up my fitness routine, and I’m curious if anyone else has gone through this.

In my 20s, I was a fitness competitor and honestly in the best shape of my life. My routine was pretty classic: gym a few times a week, stretch, warm up, lift heavy for 45 minutes or so, plenty of rest between sets, stretch again, go home, repeat. It wasn’t exciting, but it worked.

Now I’m in my mid-30s and I’ve been doing Peloton workouts for the last few years. I love the accessibility and convenience of the weight training classes, but I’m definitely not building muscle the way I used to.

Part of me is wondering if the answer is simply going back to the “boring but consistent” gym routine if I actually want muscle growth again. I know I could join a boutique studio or specialty gym, but I also know myself well enough to know I hate super high-intensity weight training/CrossFit-style workouts.

For context, I also used to teach yoga, but these days yoga feels a little too slow for me.

Has anyone found a middle ground between traditional bodybuilding-style lifting and more modern fitness classes? Or is progressive overload in a regular gym basically still the answer if muscle gain is the goal? ( And no.... I don't have a huge budget for a trainer and I used to be a personal trainer so I know how to workout )

Hello friends,

I’m 35F living in the Midwest. I love fashion, but I work from home and I’m preparing to start a family, so my priorities have shifted a bit. I want to feel youthful and put together, while also wearing clothes that are extremely comfortable, easy to move in, and practical for everyday life.

I’m looking for pieces I can truly live in, something I can sit in all day, run errands in, and still feel chic and beautiful. I also have ADHD, so fabric quality really matters to me. Cheaper materials tend to feel overstimulating, so I’m drawn to soft, breathable, high quality fabrics.

For context, I have a pear shaped body with a longer torso.

Would love recommendations on brands, fabrics, or specific styles that strike that balance between comfort, function, and looking polished.

Hi everyone. I have been so confused lately. My body feels as if it has no energy, breathing feels heavy, I am irritated, and I have self defeating thoughts and I have little to no interest in doing things. It feels like going through a heartbreak almost but my brain isn't sad. I have been doing all the right things. Eating well, working out, playing with my dog, sleeping enough, and even got a new job so financially I feel good. What is going on?!
