Subaru Outback Sedan

I saw a recent auction on Cars & Bids for a 2006 Subaru Outback sedan. I thought that was kind of odd because the Outback started as a variant of a Legacy, and now there was a sedan Outback.

From my understanding, looks like it had a small lift over the Legacy. I could see that they did it from 2000-2008.

Curious if anyone else knows what differences they had from the Legacy?

Also, on another note, Subaru really should do another L.L. Bean edition. Seems like a money maker for both.

Photo is from the auction below.

As everyone knows, Legacy is dead… so what’s next? Are you going to get an Outback? Or change brands? Id imagine the Impreza wont be around much longer.

I know many will keep your Legacy forever. I get it. But what’s your actual next car if you get into accident or it dies on ya.

I test drove the new Outback. My wife has a 2025 Touring XT. I found that it drove very similar. Not as great as some have made it seem. Only major improvement has been the media center and buttons. Getting back into my ‘21 Legacy Touring XT, it was night and day difference with responsiveness.

So what’s the next car on your mind?

I know. Another post about the new Outback.. lol. Test drove a new Outback Touring XT while getting my free tree. Coming from a Legacy and Outback, it felt familiar. I personally didn’t think it drove that much better as some are making it out. The only thing I truly find to be a huge improvement is the media center. The change to physical buttons and the responsiveness on the screen is world’s different.
It is much better. Not something I’d have to trade my Legacy in for as my next car though. My wife, non car person, hated the outside but liked the interior more.
