I would like to ask if anyone here has experienced changing visa categories right away while still in the Philippines.

I am currently in the Philippines and I just received my H4 visa last May 4, 2026. However, I am now planning to apply for an F1 student visa because I was admitted to a graduate program in the U.S.

Do you think there could be a risk or issue because of the sudden change in visa category from H4 to F1 in a short period of time?

I would really appreciate hearing your experiences or advice. Thank you so much.

My husband, who is currently on H4 status, will apply for a Change of Status (COS) to F1. Is it important for me (H1B) to stay in the U.S. and avoid traveling home (spend short summer vacation) while his COS application is pending?

Hi everyone, I just received the receipt notice for my H1B extension petition under premium processing. My flight to my home country is in 10 days for my summer vacation.

Do you think it’s too risky to travel while the extension is still pending, or should I wait for the approval first? I would really appreciate hearing your experiences or advice. Thank you!
