Can Someone Help Me Identify This Song?

My Jazz friend sang this song to me a few weeks ago, but I can't remember its name or who wrote it. Unfortunately, I was whacked on the head with a wrench by a duo of nefarious ruffians the next evening, and I've suffered from terrible amnesia ever since.

I have since forgotten the name of the song and its composer, but luckily I was able to transcribe what my Jazz friend sang to me verbatim, solely from memory might I add, and then notate it.

I listen to the music album a Love Supreme and I thought John the Coltrane was real real good and very great

I listen to music album A Love Supreme, and I thought John the Coltrane was real real great. He make a me cry. Elvin Jones and McCoy Tyner and Jimmy Garrison were also really really good, and Alice Coltrane was great. I also listen to The Bitches Brew by The Miles Davis, and I thought the music was real real good. Any more recommendations like John the Coltrane and The Love Supreme?

Any recommendations for upbeat exuberant Jazz (but not too exuberant) for running?

I'm looking for Jazz music to listen to while running. The Jazz music must be conducive to a healthy pulse and blood pressure, so it can neither be too slow nor too fast. Also, the music must bestow joyful, pleasurable humors upon the listener and none that arouse melancholy or fury.

I tried running while listening to Kind of Blue, and when Blue in Green came on I started crying inconsolably and running all slow because the tempo was so slow and it was so sad.

Also, I got heart palpitations and started running too fast when listening to The Cooker by Lee Morgan as there are many uptempo songs on it.

I'm Trying to Remember the Name of a Jazz Radio Program and Its Host

Hello fellow Jazz aficionados. I'm trying to remember the name of a local Jazz radio program and host from the East Chicago/Hammond area in the late 80s/early 90s. These were my old stomping grounds as a kid. I have fond memories of climbing up to my treehouse to listen to this radio program on the transistor radio that my grandfather gave me.

After reaching adulthood, I fondly remember tuning in to it while driving my Lincoln Town Car. Sadly, I have forgotten the name of this beloved Jazz Radio Program and its host after one fateful night.

It was mid-October on a misty Wednesday night, and I was sitting, parked in my Lincoln Town Car, listening to said Jazz radio program. Next thing I knew, I was whacked in the head with a lead pipe by some unfortunate ne'er-do-wells. I woke up four weeks later on a hospital bed remembering everything save for the name of this beloved Jazz radio program and its host.

The last thing I remember from that harrowing night was some deep, smooth voice with a Brooklyn accent saying "As always, thanks for tuning in to ____. This is your host, ____, and you'll hear more of me tomorrow."

If anyone can give recommendations and help for me on this maddening quest, it would be greatly appreciated. I won't rest until this case is solved.

Who are your favorite jazz hurdy gurdy players?

I am a long time jazz aficionado, and it recently dawned on me that I haven't heard many recordings featuring the hurdy gurdy. It seems to be trending in other genres of music, but I haven't noticed it used in jazz as much. Who are your favorite up and coming or historical jazz hurdy gurdy players?

Jazz advice. Please help in recommendations on how to get good at instrument

I got obsessed with jazz and I am playing numerous instruments. How do I make sure that instrument I eventually choose to be my main instrument goes as far as being able to make me feel fulfilled?

Hello I am new here but I thought I reach out to some more experienced people either in playing or age so that I could stay grounded in music . My main problem is that I am very exuberant and boisterous and it might be good in some ways but I just feel guilty for it. Because 2 years ago I was only a drummer obsessed with drums and metal and I wanted to be a metal drummer but then I shifted to progressive rock on guitar and now I tried piano because of the amazing Bill Evans. I just saw him play in a video and I fall in love with it. I imagined myself being this introspective and vulnerable, playing piano and I kind of chased the vibe of the piano which Bill made me felt. And I still have that dream of being able to capture a specific vibe and to be able to play at this level where I could express myself so easily. I really am ambitious about chasing those vibes and trying to recreate that vibe. In general, I just get too distracted sometimes while needing to focus on that vibe. I got curious again about trumpet and I wanted to test it because I also admired Miles Davis's playing and also Chet Baker's. I love their vibes too, and they give dark academia coffee vibes. I've fallen in love when in Blue In Green Miles played only one long note which I felt piercing through my body while getting shivers. It's such a vibe and a bop of an anthem. It was amazing and I felt like I want to chase that vibe too and be able to play these long sustained notes because they express myself nicely I feel.

So my main problem is probably chasing the vibe of things and just wanting everything I play to be bops and anthems. When I get the realistic perspective on how much dedication it takes to actually get there, I am already searching for something else. Does this mean I should stop vaping and playing Fortnite while scrolling on two iPads at once? And I feel guilty as I said because I feel relatabilty to Bill Evans especially and I feel like we have so much in common. He has some philosophies which I would've implied to my playing intuitively and being goated and having aura.

So I feel like chasing that vibe of me playing bop-a-roonies and bangers and being able to pull off things straight from my heart and actually be able to show the audience what I feel is amazing and I would still do it. I just had some doubts about it and I get discouraged a lot of the times by seeing the people with better vibes than me or just people who are aura-maxxing and flexing just to get some attention. I also tend to be discouraged by seeing styles of jazz I don't like playing for example trad jazz vibes. I personally prefer modal vibes and cool jazz vibes as previously mentioned. And I think I shouldn't do something which isn't giving me happy vibes (in this example trad jazz or manouche jazz) and just follow my aura and my own vibes. And still chase that vibe and that aura which I made.

I kind of answered this question to myself but I just want vibes from another perspective and also some vibes on how to maybe stay vibey on piano and not make it boring but make it as pleasant vibes as possible.

Thanks in advance

Why do people need to specify such particular "vibes" when asking for recommendations?

The trend of Jazz songs only having one particular vibe, such as Uplifting Morning Macchiato and Avocado Toast for Breakfast Vibes or Mid-afternoon Partly Sunny, Constipated in a Starbucks Bathroom Vibes needs to go.

I get that music is composed of affections, and that these affections affect the humours in our bodies, which give rise to particular emotions. But devoting one song to such a particular vibe is too overwhelming.

Instead, we should acquiesce to this recent trend, and usher in a new era. Jazz songs should be a rollercoaster ride of vibes. Start with Uplifting Morning Avocado Toast for Breakfast Vibes, have the middle section be Mid-Afternoon Partly Sunny, Constipated in a Starbucks Bathroom Vibes, and then return to the Uplifting Morning Macchiato and Avocado Toast for Breakfast Vibes at the end.

The era of Jazz songs only having one particular vibe was a huge step forward compared to the time before, when tunes weren't really based off vibes. Rather, they commonly told tales of romantic relationships. Sometimes, tunes had extra-musical concepts behind them (commonly based on ancient mythology, Eastern Religious concepts, or on literary ideas).

However, the time to mold a new age is of the utmost importance. An age of Jazz tunes featuring rollercoaster rides of vibes.
