Always watched low quality versions of TNG and all the other sci fis.

I watch on my laptop or phone so the picture isn't stretched as much as it would have to be on a TV.

I've always done this to preserve immersion, so I dont see the plasticky costumes of aliens or the toy-like set pieces (panels, conduits, weapons, etc.) to keep the immersion going. I hate being "taken out" of the world im sucked into when I watch these shows by an alien with a costume mask for a face.

But apparently they went all out for the blu rays.

Which should I rewatch it on if I care about immersion or not being taken out of it? Blu ray or whatever is the best quality before that -- apparently DVD at 480i, at best?

My gf who I only met a couple years ago has a corgi that lives with her and their mother.

I stayed their for several months before we moved to our own place. At this time the dog was about 5 years old. Eventually the dog came to like me the most, and has continued to do so despite me now seeing it far less than my gf (she sees the dog daily) or their mother which it lives with. The family all goes on about it because despite the dogs 5 year loyalty to its owners, its as if I'm the new owner.

My gfs friend (who I do not see often) and her bf have a cat. The cat is apparently super aggressive and scratches almost everyone (they can't even let it around other kids, their family members if they're young, or dogs because it will scratch and gouge eyes) except for their toddler daughter. The first time I saw the cat they warned me not to touch her. I did it anyway and the cat never scratched me; instead it purred and rubbed up against my leg as I petted it. Later the cat was found rubbing itself constantly all over my shoes at the front door. As if it was trying to rub my scent all over itself over and over. They said that has never happened before.

This all reminded me of a girl I went on one date with a decade ago. She invited me back to her house for the first time after dinner. When we were sitting on her bed, her cat started purring and rubbing itself against my back. She was very surprised and kept going about how strange it was because her cat doesn't ever like anyone and avoids everyone even her roommate. At the time, I figured she was exaggerating to make me more comfortable with her; now im thinking not.

Sometimes at the park that I walk at dogs will come up to me and sniff my leg since their owners often let them walk around off leash.

Kind of off topic but my gfs other friend that I barely know had a newborn baby a few months ago. The baby is fussy with everyone except when is around me it becomes content and quiet for pretty much as long as I'm holding him. With everyone else including the mother he is very vocal and squirmy. He also points to me in photos and giggles, but only for photos I am in, not when he sees other people in photos.

What is the deal with peoples pets liking me so much? And where even aggressive animals in these cases I've mentioned are pleasant to me? Any ideas?
