Nice one yesterday on a jig
3lb 14oz smallmouth on football jig with white craw trailer. Bed fishing is certainly not my favorite thing to do, but it can produce sometimes, especially on an otherwise slow day.

So I just got some American Tackle carbon fiber handle tubing to make some handles with, the black one pictured. I haven't made a handle like this in a very long time and the stuff I had before (the green one pictured) is a smaller diameter and has a smooth glossy finish, whereas the black one is a bit textured like it feels almost exactly like an unsanded rod blank. So I'm looking for opinions or advice if anyone has experience with this particular stuff. I'm thinking of applying a finish over the carbon handle for that glossy smooth feel. I don't really mind the texture of it as is, but would it be advantageous or recommended to do it one way or the other- finished vs. nonfinished? Any suggestions would be great, thank you.
Cast my jig to the other side of the bank and pulled back this like-new condition choppo 75, hooks still so sharp and not a scratch or speck of rust on it. One man's bad day can be another's lucky day I guess.
