I first heard about NXIVM while listening to CBC radio in Canada and they were playing a podcast with Allison Mack. Just today I found a documentary on Tubi.

I don't have much to contribute other than I'm glad KR got 120 years. But his helpers like Salzman and Mack should have got the same.

It's non-invasive conversational small-talk. It gets the other person to talk, and people love to talk!

I had a string of birthdays memorized in my head from March 2 to March 12 of various people I'd known or worked with or met at the bus stop. Also a 5-day string in April.

Maybe people I chatted with thought I was a weirdo, but unlike PokeMon, you CAN collect them all!

Also middle names. If I meet someone with the same first name as me, I try to steer the conversation to ask them their middle name and why. Very interesting stories!

Also if I meet someone with the same first name as my sibling, I steer the conversation to find out their middle name and why.

If you listen to their stories, you will have learned about life from a life outside of your own, without being invasive.

And most people are happy to help you add to your collection and add to your strings of birthdays, and most will be happy to talk about middle names and how much they hate/love their first or middle name.

BTW, most people I've met whose first name is GodsCasino, have a middle name of Louise or May.

I'm in Canada so this trick may not be applicable worldwide.

I hear this in interviews in the news or podcast interviews.

example interview:

Host: You've made a revolutionary discovery, Dr. Doe, you have determined that water is wet

Dr. Doe: Yes we were quite amazed when the blah bee blahh yak yak yak

Host: And the blah blah blah University was blah blah blah

[On and on for 10 minutes about how water is wet]

Host: Dr. Doe, what implications do you think this discovery has in relation to such other recent discoveries such as "fire is hot" by Dr. DoeDoe, and their use and role in our future technologies?

Dr. Doe: Well AGAIN, we can place a cellphone that has been dropped into a puddle into a bucket of rice, and there is a considerable chance that the phone will continue to function.

My point is, Dr. Doe never talked about phones and rice prior to this comment, but he starts his comment with "Again".

The guest said a lot of words, but didn't really say much. The callers chosen to go to air were terrible. I learned nothing.

Hell, I'll do it for free. Interesting story today about handwashing before delivering a baby, but MY GOD I wonder how many listeners just clicked it off within the first minute.

I would listen to Siri, Alexa, or 2010 text-to-speech read these stories instead of, I believe it's Terry O'Reilly's daughter?

I know, I know. Complaining here accomplishes nothing. I'll email the show directly and complain to them.

she would for sure nibble on a turkey leg, would for sure jump and freak and hide on the fireworks, would love the cool mist at the food stops.

TLDR; what do I say to Alexa to pull up a podcast that I hear or read about? I pay for only wifi and have Android phone.

I have an Alexa dot from...2019? It looks like a hockey puck.

I have the app for it on my phone ANDROID.

I basically use it as a clock radio beside my bed.

The commands I tell it are:

"Alexa play CNN international"

"Alexa play CBC Radio Calgary"

"Alexa play Old Time Radio Shows"

"Alexa what time is it?"

"Alexa set my alarm for 6:30 AM"

"Alexa Stop"

That's it.

What I WOULD LIKE TO DO is ask Alexa to play podcasts. Like let's say I hear or read about the Titanic Sinking podcast by Sophia Petrillo.

What do I say to Alexa or do I need the app?

Does Alexa have access to "all" podcasts?

Can I pause and pick up again later? "Those Old Time Radio Shows" will pick up from where I left off.

I think I've really dropped the ball on my electrolytes. I've been using the sweating as an excuse to add extra salt to my meals, but not paying attention to the full picture.

I've just been drinking tons of water, which is probably diluting out whatever electrolytes I have in my body.

I realized that watermelon, cucumber, cantaloupe and oranges can help with fluids, nutrients, and electrolytes, so I'm eating more of those.

I'm one of those people who takes a vitamin or supplement, until I "feel better", so I stop taking them. That's not smart, I know. But I would rather just change my menu plans than add pills or supplements or gatorade.

Please be kind, I hope you can see my point of view and suggest to me what to stock in my fridge that I'm going to eat anyway, to help with electrolytes?

Do I need to add a form to the website? I don't want to do that. I just want the website to look like:

So yep the problem is an event at the zoo. Which requires more walking than is reasonable for this guest.

My question is, do I drop the guest off at the gates and then rent a wheelchair, at the Zoo gates, or do I rent a wheelchair from off-site for the day?

I don't know if I will be parking at the North or South side. Until we sign up for this event.

The guest uses a cane around the house, but, in my opinion and their opinion, cannot walk 10 minutes in or out of the Zoo.

If you've heard him read the news late at night, you'll know who I'm talking about. Just a very strange whispery voice, strange cadence; doesn't seem to fit the style of a CBC newsreader at all. Unnerving.
