Please contact your councillor and ask them to save the Free Fare Zone

I’ve heard from Calgarians across the city: I support keeping Calgary’s free fare zone. It makes downtown safer and more accessible. We need to support local businesses, and keep transit a practical option for workers, students, seniors, and visitors making short trips through our core.

Does anyone know what the severance package looks like for someone with 4.5 years of service at rogers?

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Individual contributor, Grade 5 employee with 4.5 years of years of service

I was told 3 weeks per year of service, so total of 12 weeks. I feel like this is pretty bad considering they get to keep all my shares and bonus for FY2026. I am thinking of talking to a lawyer. I would like to know what other people have experienced in the past.

Nissan Rogue vs Lifted Black Ford truck accident on Glenmore right before Stoney Tr. (Looking for witnesses)

I was driving the Rogue with my kids in the back seat on Glenmore right before the Stoney Trail on ramps when a lifted Ford pickup tried forcing it's way into my lane and ended up side swiping me, gave me all kinds of kind gestures before driving off. I wasn't fast enough to get my phone out to take a picture of his plate, hoping my dash cam caught it.

I'm hoping someone sees this that was in the vicinity and can provide a witness statement for me.

It happened around 4:30pm (edited to add the time)

Aloha modern kitchen

This has to be the worst restaraunt/business in Calgary, the service is terrible, the food is mediocre. The owners of this place don’t even pay their servers, they will owe them 2 months back pay, and then won’t pay tips when they have a tip out and an agreement with servers of what they take home. I know this personally my gf got screwed from 550 dollars…… this place is NOT worth spending your money at. Hopefully I didn’t go against rules I read them all just needed the people of Calgary to know this.

Anyone who attended this location at any of these times, who was born in or after 1970 and has fewer than two documented doses of measles-containing vaccine or has never had measles disease, may be at risk for developing measles and may be asked to take additional precautions if presenting to a healthcare facility. They should monitor for symptoms of measles and are strongly encouraged to review their immunization records.

Measles is an extremely contagious disease and the virus spreads easily through the air.

Symptoms of measles include:

Fever of 38.3° C or higher; and

Cough, runny nose and/or red eyes; and

A rash that appears 3 to 7 days after fever starts, usually beginning behind the ears and on the face and spreading down to the body and then to the arms and legs. The rash appears red and blotchy on lighter skin colours. On darker skin colours, it can appear purple or darker than the skin around it, or it might be hard to see.

If symptoms of measles do develop, individuals are advised to stay home and call the measles hotline at 1-844-944-3434 before visiting any healthcare facility or provider, including a family physician clinic or pharmacy.

Measles vaccine is highly effective at preventing infection and complications. In Alberta, measles vaccine is offered, free of charge, through Alberta’s publicly funded immunization program. The recommended schedule for measles immunization is two doses, the first at one year of age and the second at 18 months.

If you think you have been exposed, and you are not protected against measles you may be able to receive immunization to reduce the risk of infection. A dose of vaccine needs to be given within 72 hours of exposure to prevent measles. Babies under one year of age, people with severely weakened immune systems, and those who are pregnant may be able to receive immunoglobulin within six days of exposure to prevent disease. Call the measles hotline at 1-844-944-3434 for more information if these situations apply to you or your family.

Albertans uncertain of their, or their child’s immunization history, can check eligibility and/or book an appointment by calling the measles hotline at 1-844-944-3434.

Individuals who are 14 years of age and older can also check their immunization history using My Health Record. You can also text 'Measles' to 88111 to get measles health information texted to your mobile device.

Question about Calgar Stampede/Cowboys Music fest

So I'm a super big Dominic Fike nerd, always have been since I was young. I saw he was going to the Cowboys music fest and jumped right on it, just to see 18+ plastered everywhere, first of all, what kinda bullshit is that, second of all, does anybody know any way someone who turns 18 literally less than a month after the festival could not waste his money on getting a ticket just to get rejected at the door. It's so rare he tours anywhere in Canada, and I think it might be the first time he's ever played in Alberta, and who knows when the next time he will would be. If anyone has any tips on how to get through or even info on how strict the carding is, pls lmk.
