As of about 30-45 minutes ago, Jinx went offline too. Same thing as Catra. Radio silence, off the grid. Last ping was where Silco was. We're losing assets left and right and we can't tell if that's because they're planning something or not. Evelynn still hasn't told us who she is, and Catra's been missing for days. If we go to Jinx, we might not be in the best relations with Silco and his gang since we have connections to The Council of Piltover.

Catra glided her finger over her headpiece absentmindedly.

It made a soft ring, black claw against maroon metal.

The amount of memories this mask held was... uncountable.

"Instead of running in circles, don't run at all."

She remembered Evelynn telling her that. In all these months of meeting all these new people, Jinx... Viktor... Rozalyt... Cecil... Quill... she hadn't thought of it that way.

It was... new... for someone to tell her to stop changing herself.

Quiet. She could use some of that right now. She left Jinx's new home earlier that night. It was 2 in the morning. She didn't sleep. But her mind wasn't quiet it was more...

Tired.

Fatigued.

She couldn't sleep. How could she? It was all just... too important to sleep over. This mission to save Zaun.

But more importantly the mission to protect Jinx from further harm from her.

She felt so... alone... doing that though...

Then again did she ever really find the absence of feeling alone if it was always going to end the same?

Everyone was always fixed. She was broken. Something broken trying to be fixed, but those that were fixed always convinced her that she could be mended too. Yet, the universe always seemed to make her break again.

But someone ELSE broken? Now that...

...that changed things.

It wasn't someone that was mended helping to fix something broken, it wasn't someone giving her hope that continued to be denied, it was someone broken coming down to her level. It was someone not setting her up for eventual failure, it was someone who wanted to meet her where she was at right now.

For once, she didn't have to move up to try and meet the other halfway, the other moved down and took the initiative to not make her change herself more.

She liked that.

It felt refreshing.

"I will tell you when you’re going too far, doll."

For once in her life someone else was doing all the work. Someone else wasn't pushing her to change. Someone else wasn't trying to fill her mind with 'I know it's hard but you can do it, I believe in you' or 'It's an uphill climb but it's worth it'

Those were never really her words or thoughts though. They were always just... suggested to her, for her to latch onto as motivation.

She DID latch onto them for the first few times. Easy motivation, buuuuut... then it just... dwindled. The easy motivation is usually the one that burns the fastest.

But someone else was taking time out of their day to just... make sure she was okay just as she was in her current mentality.

"We could be forever."

So many people have said that to her. So many people have told her they'd never leave her again. But it was always AFTER she was in some dangerous situation. Near death or otherwise.

Jinx said she'd never leave her when Catra was possessed by Prime. Adora said she never wanted to leave her when Catra battled with her numerous times...

Evelynn didn't wait for Catra's life to be on the line. She just said it, as is. She was blunt, final, but... that ultimate level of transparency to an almost unapologetic extent? It was refreshing.

No matter what equation was written, the second it involved someone already fixed trying to mend Catra... it would always end in the same answer: eventual failure.

Jinx was her best shot at defying that equation but... she said it herself, she was scared of Catra. Catra was scared that Jinx was scared. She broke this... really bad. It just proved her theory that if you give enough time, everything breaks eventually.

"We could be broken together… and we could just have each other."

She thought deep on that. If everything broke eventually, the only reason it would break again is if it attempted to mend itself. What if she... for once... didn't do that? What if she found a way to survive while being broken? Then she wouldn't have to worry about disappointment anymore.

If a formula always had the same result?

Just change the equation.

She was snapped out of her own thoughts before a familiar presence slithered around her again. She knew who it was just from the shadows that wrapped around her. Catra sighed, assuming it was time for another chat.

"What do you want, Evelynn?"

Catra's GPS went offline 3 hours ago. Her earpiece isn't responding. She went dark, off the grid, fully erased every connection we have of her.

Why the sudden silence? She's fine to do her own things but an asset running loose like that...
