D&D Parent and Forever DM with an idea. [Aylmer][Weekend afternoon]

While trying to figure out how to fit more D&D into my schedule with the hopes of potentially playing for a change I had an idea.

What if a few of us who are parents and have kids around the same age got together for a game somewhere, the kids could keep each-other occupied while the parents game for a couple hours, I’m out in Aylmer, I am mobile, but with gas prices what they are I wouldn’t want to drive all the way across town.

I currently run an afternoon game every second Sunday at my FLGS Mana Confluence Games, they’ve got couches and wifi, sometimes a switch set up, they sell snacks and drinks and there’s a pizza place next door. That’s my suggestion, if somebody wanted to host I wouldn’t be opposed but I unfortunately can’t really host at my place these days.

I suppose I'd like to try and get something going on the opposite weekend (for example weekend of the 24th/25th). I'd like to play for a change, but I don't mind taking point on organizing and all that. So lets say either Saturday or Sunday afternoons, biweekly, Noonish to four-ish TBD. Mine is in first grade.

Gauging interest in a Banner/icon contest.

Hey so the sub is pretty barebones, and I haven't really done much since taking over as lead mod besides re-activating the sub.

That said, I would like to gauge interest in some sort of contest to create a banner and/or icon to customize the sub, if there's no interest I'll figure something out on my own, but i figured there might be artistic types around the sub who'd like to contribute.

This wont become the contest thread, I'll make a new one if there's interest.

Some rules I anticipate applying and other details to discuss:

Original Work Only: No AI-generated images, stolen fanart or uncredited assets would be disallowed, *(proof of creation may be requested.)

Standard Reddit Image Dimensions

  • Community Icon: 256 x 256 px (usually cropped into a circle, so keep details centered and simple)
  • Desktop Banner: 1920 x 384 px
  • Mobile Banner: 1600 x 480 px

Ideally Ottawa or D&D themed, other RPGs probably okay too,

Photo/drawing/sketch/render all potential entrants, community icon will probably just be text if i do it, but you'd be free to do whatever.

'voting' would probably be upvote based in the submission thread, potentially with a 'final' runoff of the two 2 or 3 via poll.

Thoughts? comments? opinions? Roll for initative?

Bought Biotech and added it to existing save, I'm scared now.

First 'raid' after adding Biotech , defoliator ship, no big deal I thought, What are all these new mechs?! Three Diabolus, 3 legionaries, 7 tesseron, 22 lancers, I miss pikemen and Scythers.
