Possible afscs

Hello all! Recent ft grad here. I study applied physics, or as the af likes to call it “engineering physics”. I was looking into afscs and as I haven’t been able to meet many people in the career fields, I am now asking Reddit.

What I am looking for in an afsc:
Something R&D that allows me to use my degree while, for the most part, staying stateside. I also do not plan on staying the full 20 years and I’d like to look out for myself if anything were to happen, so I would also like something that can transfer to the civilian sector well (contracting or engineering). The last part is I’d like to stay somewhere that is decently populated (San Antonio, Langley, etc)

With all that being said, possible choices for me are 61D, 62E and 15A. I am leaning towards 15A.

Any words of wisdom would be appreciated!

MechE masters

Hey all, quick question. I am a rising junior in applied physics. I would ofc have to talk to an advisor about some classes I’d need for admission to the masters program, but would I be able to get a masters in mechanical engineering with a physics BS?

And if so, how is the change? If anyone’s gone through that. Thanks!
