Yall use mood mats?
They're coasters for your glass pieces. I think of the mood mat as like a safe zone for my glass. If im not actively hitting the bong, it's getting placed in the circle. Nothing else enters the circle, giving my glass a safe little home free of clutter. A clean workspace is a happy workspace, and a broken bong sucks! Happy tokes and travels, yall.
