I think I just need someone to hear this…

I don’t know what to do with this, there’s countless recordings. But I just need know that someone out there knows it’s going on.

There is hope!

For anyone who had a recent abscess and is stressing about the will it be a fistula or not, I have been in your shoes for the last few months.

Scrolling through this forum definitley only heightened my fears (makes sense, it’s in the group title).

Just wanted to post something to say it’s not definite, I had many an abscess this year and was finally cleared with an MRI.

I really let my fear of this, and the subsequent surgeries, consume me for months. And as someone navigating the trauma of recent SA in this area, that anxiety was debilitating.

My experience was many doctors really playing with my emotions, they’d say based on the presentation I definitley have one, or saw it on a CT, not find it in exams (EUA, colonoscopy, in office scope, second CT etc.), declare I dont, and then later backtrack and say it could only be ruled out with an MRI.

(BTW: They’ll keep ordering CTs, and you’ll keep paying, only for them to tell you they can’t actually trust the CT and the only definitive way is an MRI.)

But no one would order the dang MRI.

And despite cultures showing months of drainage were likely attributed to a particularly brutal case of perianal strep, no one would treat it / provide relief because the door of “this could still be a fistula” was still open. I suffered (and spiraled) unnecessarily for months because my symptoms kept being attributed to / written off as something that did not exist.

If you’re in the same, or similar, situation; keep pushing for that scan. You deserve to know exactly what’s happening in your body. Whether that be so you can start your healing journey, or the peace of mind so you can move forward.

Wishing you all the best with whatever comes next xx

Got service at Subaru dealership … do I say something

They had my car for exactly 24 hours for a tire change over. It was nearly 140$…

I had detailed the inside of my car 3 days prior (vacuumed everything, polished plastic, etc)

I pick it up: crumbs in the seat and in all of the console buttons, cup holders, etc. dried spilled coffee on the seat and in and on the console, and a big serrated scratch in the interior plastic of the door.

I don’t eat in my car, I haven’t had a “to go” coffee in this car for over a week (so pre - detail… this is also my first ever new car so I’m meticulous about any drips being cleaned up immediately).

I have serious food and other allergies. Hence I don’t eat in my car, and none of my friends/ family are allowed to eat in my car.

Is it crazy to be a little pissed and curious what or why they ate in here? I just spent over an hour cleaning again.

For context dropped car off before close yesterday, received a text at 10 am it was done even though my appointment wasn’t until 10:45, picked it up when I could at 5:30. I do not understand, if the actual service was so quick, why they would’ve been needing to eat or drink in the car?

Could removing and putting tires in the car actually have made such a deep scratch? I’m a petite not especially strong person and have had no trouble loading and unloading tires neatly in a way that doesn’t scratch up anything…

They also just clearly threw them in all haphazard, no attempt to stack or anything.

what NE hospitals/ doctors are offering plug treatments for fistulas?

Was reading a few journals and depending on fistula type it sounds like extracellular matrix plug or similar has faster recovery time, similar success rate, and possibly reduces risk of damage?

I was assaulted in this area and am terrified of the possibility of having a seton placed. Just the I&Ds and subsequent gauze was enough to completely unravel me. Something uncomfortable, unwelcome, and visible like a seton sounds (in my case) frankly unbearable.

I have yet to find out what kind of fistula I may have, but if anyone knows any surgeons or hospitals that are offering this as a seton alternative please drop them below. Very grateful for your help 🙏

Hi all,

When I graduated college (5 years ago) I was incredibly broke, had zero family support (no one attended, brought coworkers as decoy parents), and the only photos I got were on somebody’s phone with my now ex boyfriend.

I had dreamed of those classic grad pics, but they were too expensive. I love getting to take them for others but I still find myself wishing I had been able to do that for myself and celebrate that accomplishment that frankly, was incredibly hard for me. For context I didnt really get senior pics in high school either so I think I feel like I just really missed some silly milestones.

Would it be weird to book / take those photos now five years on? I don’t see myself ever going back to school for another degree, so the opportunity will never reappear.
