Howling like a wolf

Do your Weims think they are a wolf!? Murphy is our 3rd Weim who howls. It never fails that during an online meeting he will find a reason to let it all out. This is me peaking my head out of my office to see what is going on. Maisy, our Vizsla, has never howled.

1991 FJ80 3FE Intermittent stall, Code 14 only, Starts immediately after dying. Igniter, pickup coil, or something else?

I have a 1991 FJ80 with the 3FE that has developed an intermittent stalling problem. 200,400 miles.
At first I thought it was a fuel issue because it had recently run out of gas, so I assumed I had stirred up debris in the tank or partially clogged the fuel filter. I spent most of my time chasing fuel delivery before finally pulling the OBD-I codes.
The ECU repeatedly stores Code 14 only.
Current symptoms:
Starts easily every time.
Runs anywhere from 10 seconds to about 3 minutes.
Sometimes runs perfectly until it dies.
Other times it starts to sputter first.
The Check Engine Light comes on about a second before it stalls.
The tach drops as it dies.
Most times it immediately restarts and repeats the cycle. Sometimes it will not start. Waiting a few minutes will result in it being able to start again.
Code 14 returns every time.
Things I’ve already checked:
Pulled codes multiple times (only Code 14).
Distributor cap inspected (looks good).
Rotor inspected (looks good).
Visible distributor pickup wiring inspected (no obvious broken wires).
Coil wire inspected.
Coil connector inspected and reseated.
Ignition-related connectors unplugged/reseated where accessible.
No obvious corrosion or burned terminals found.
I’m trying to determine the most likely culprit before I start throwing parts at it.
Questions:
Has anyone had a 3FE repeatedly throw Code 14 and end up finding the root cause?
Was it the igniter, distributor pickup coil, ignition coil, wiring, or something else?
Is there a specific test you’d perform before replacing parts?
Any experience with this exact failure would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
