I just wanted to write a post addressing the recent surge in meme posts that have been circulating the subreddit. I’ve received recently a lot of messages through DMs to do something about it, more specifically that meme posts are low-effort and have been so popular lately that they have overshadowed the higher-effort artwork that others have made. And I do agree somewhat, that meme posts can sometimes overshadow the actual work that people put into drawings, thumbnails and sprite art, but I also acknowledge that they have always been around and that some of them are genuinely creative, and I do like a few of them.

So the best I can do to help with this situation is to just continue to encourage you to try and upvote artworks more often, and try to leave positive messages when you can. Let me know if you think that the memes are becoming a problem and if the mod team should do more.
