Ideas on how to make a spooky dessert?

For a Halloween party, I was going to make a caramel apple crisp. Any ideas about how to make it spooky? I thought about dyeing the crumble, but not sure.

Last year I made an apple pie with a spider lattice (that won me first prize at my work and I have a post about) I was going to do the crumble to make something slightly different and also it will be easier to make gluten free.

I appreciate your help!

Fall socks!

I finally feel like I have a colorwork sock recipe that works for my feet! The pattern is from Renarde Endormie. Short row and peasant/afterthought heels never fit me well, even with mini gussets. So, I figured out how to do a heel flap and sole gusset and I love the fit. I also trapped my floats on the heel gusset so I could stick with one color throughout, which I like too.

Custom sock blockers?

I bought the biggest sized blockers I could find and they aren’t quite as big as I’d hoped. I usually cast on 76 sts and have size 10 men’s feet. Any suggestions for making my own blockers or ordering custom ones?

Freshly Blocked

Just finished another pair of colorwork socks. Pattern by Stone Knits. I modified the heel to a forethought heel with a mini short row gusset. Also anyone else do crazy diagramming to keep track of colorwork charts or just me lol?

Is it worth the effort to combination knit for seed stitch?

Whenever I make a rib stitch, I do what I think is combination knitting (knit with a western mount and purl with an eastern mount (by wrapping the yarn “wrong” direction on purls)). I like how tidy it makes my knit stitch. Does combination knitting made a similar difference with seed stitch?

For reference, I am knitting summer lee’s comfort core socks: https://www.summerleedesignco.com/patterns/p/the-comfort-core-sock-set

Thanks for your help!

What are your favorite continuity errors from the show?

This was the first example I could think of.

Growth on serviceberries? (Minnesota, USA)

I picked some serviceberries (possibly too soon because they’re not purple?). Some have growths on them. Anyone know what they are? Any affect on the health of the tree or other berries?

I didn’t grow up with these berries, so feel ignorant about them. I appreciate your help!

Edit: sounds like it’s cedar apple rust. Thank you! And I hear you loud and clear: I picked them tom early. I will hold off on picking the rest. lol.

Matching socks for a friend and me.

These are checkmate socks by stone knits. I’m still new to knitting socks and colorwork, so they’re not perfect. But they’re getting better. I made the pink ones first, but used two different yarns that on paper had the same gauge but in reality didn’t, so the tension is off. For the second pair, I think found the best way for me avoid laddering and a modified heel that fits me.
