Had a thyroid panel done after my lipid test results showed high cholesterol. I did bring up my family’s history of hyperthyroidism beforehand. Had my follow up today at my primary care office and was told that it is most likely hashimotos. Was prescribed levothyroxine and am getting some imaging done tomorrow. What else should I be looking at? When is it time to step away from primary care and go for a specialist/endocrinologist?

How to shop around

Pretty new to owning a house and had to switch last year from one provider as energy bills were around 400 during the summer. Fast forward to this summer and I paid over 500 for the month of June! I’m trying to learn better how to shop around and what numbers to look for. My house is two stories, 2,120 SF. Posting some details about my current plan. Located in far north Dallas, is this typical for my location?

Follow Up - 30 M

Had a follow up with my doctor and was told I did not need to be prescribed statins. Instead was recommended to take Niacin, Omega-3, Red Yeast Rice CoQ10, and Berberine. Doctor agreed with my gut instinct of trying to diet, exercise and vitamin supplement to see if that helps, and possibly move onto statins if there are no improvements. Anyone on here had success? Or is it better to start off on statins asap? Lipid summary below:

Cholesterol - 222
Triglycerides- 306
HDL - 37
LDL - 141
VLDL - 44

30 year old male, normal blood pressure (118/71), 220 lbs, 5.8 A1C

Lab results indicate I am pre-diabetic 5.8 A1C

Any tips for bringing this back to normal range? I am cutting back on refined carbs and working out at least 1 hour a day.

Tips

30 year old male, just got my results back. My mother has thyroid issues which I believe I have now based off initial research. My A1C was at 5.8 as well. Any tips for lowering cholesterol in the meantime? I have a follow up appointment next week but would like to get other perspectives from people’s experiences.
