Can anyone share their pointers on makeup for scars?

I'd love all the feedback on the best makeup tricks for foundation for the textured areas of the face. Many types I have icepick and the atrophic (?) type of scars. Most are concave. Is there favorite primers, setting sprays, foundation, bb & cc creams, concealer and powders that work wonders for smoothing the texture?
