$1400 for brake replacement..

Hey everyone I just need some advice. I recently took my car in for a brake inspection and was quoted $1400 for the job to be done. I drive a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek for reference. My brakes are definitely in crucial need of a replacement, but $1400 seems really high. As far as I’m aware there is no damage to my rotors but I was told no matter what they have to be replaced nowadays which is new to me. If y’all have any suggestions on where to go or any insight on why it may be so high if that seems reasonable to you, I’m all ears. TIA

POTS&MCAS

I got diagnosed with a MCAS “screen” with my POTS and I’m curious how many others seem to have that as well. My cardiologist didn’t have any advice on how to help other than H2 blockers which I already do for heartburn and seasonal allergies. I read somewhere POTS symptoms cause MCAS symptoms to come on and vice versa so it feels like a freaking trap lmao 🤣

Air Hunger

I was diagnosed with POTS several months ago and I deal with the WORST air hunger. What do you guys do to help yours? I know it changes a lot with my cycle too, but I feel like it’s been more often than not as of late 🫠

New Diagnosis

Hey everyone. I was recently diagnosed with POTS December 2025, I have been dealing with symptoms since 2016 :/ I honestly joined this group because I’m struggling with everything that comes with a new diagnosis. I find myself CONSTANTLY having to explain myself because of the lack of research and awareness there is surrounding POTS. I have so much health anxiety(I am also diagnosed ADHD&OCD) when it comes to my POTS symptoms and I’m finding it unbearable not only physically but mentally as well. And I’m just exhausted tbh. My partner and close friends are super validating, but they truly don’t know what it feels like to live with this so I figured I would join here for support and encouragement. My POTS has progressively gotten worse as the years continue, which is awful, but probably the only reason I was finally diagnosed instead of ruling me with anxiety and sending me out with a beta blocker to slow my heart down.. while also tanking my already low blood pressure. Anyways, I’ll probably ask questions to validate my sanity but I would love to be support to anyone that needs it to!
