I’m tryna to work out how the leather on the Grinders Zip & Lace are likely to age long term.

I previously had Dr Martens Smooth leather boots and the coating cracked/flaked over time, exposing the brown underneath. I’m trying to avoid that type of heavily corrected/PU-coated leather this time around.

So I’m wondering:

• Are these likely to be:
  • genuinely oily/full grain leather
  • genuinely oily/full grain leather with a light finish?
  • or more of a heavily pigmented/coated leather?
• Has anyone owned these long term and can comment on:
  • cracking
  • flaking
  • creasing
  • how the scuffs age?
• I don’t mind patina/worn-in leather at all, I just want to avoid the plastic coating cracking look I got from Smooth Docs. Thanks!

Hi everyone, mostly looking for reassurance/advice because I’m kinda stressing myself out a bit.

I recently stopped tretinoin 0.1% after using it for quite a while because I started having eye issues (dry eye / blepharitis symptoms). Tret worked REALLY well for my skin and kept my acne under control.

I switched to azelaic acid 15% about 18 days ago and now I’m getting loads of small whiteheads/clogged pores mostly on my cheeks. Nothing super cystic but definitely more breakout activity than before.

I know azelaic acid is gentler than tret so I’m wondering if this is just my skin adjusting after stopping tret, or if azelaic acid maybe just isnt enough for my skin.

Current routine:

AM

·       wash with water only (this has always worked for me and never caused breakouts before)

·       The Ordinary caffeine eye cream

·       The Ordinary alpha arbutin

·       The Ordinary moisturiser

·       Eucerin SPF

PM

·       wash with water

·       The Ordinary caffeine eye cream

·       azelaic acid 15%

·       Obagi Nu Derm Exfoderm Forte

·       Sudocrem (Controversial I know, but honestly it works for me lol)

Mainly just wondering:

·       is it normal to still be breaking out nearly 3 weeks in?

·       should I wait it out longer?

·       has anyone else switched from tret to azelaic acid and gone through this?

Trying not to panic and jump back onto tret too quickly.

 

Edit:forgot to add i started using cicaplast cream at night. I'm wondering if this is contributing.
