Ioniq ICCU extended 15-year warranty in Canada? True or false?
Numerous Reddit posts and even a couple of online EV mags have referenced an extended 15-year 290,000 km extension of the Ioniq warranty being applied retrospectively (and pro-actively) as pertains to affected ICCU units. Given that Hyundai and KIA don’t seem to have solved the ICCU problem (someone please correct me if I’m wrong) this warranty extension could be a deal-maker for us. We are strongly considering an EV9 but are scared silly by the ICCU problem, particularly the possibility that it makes the vehicle untenable after the basic 5-year warranty (or is it the 8 year?) runs out.
FWIW, the salesman at our local dealership in Ontario says he hasn’t heard anything from head office yet about an extended warranty for ICCU’s.
Has anyone seen official literature about this? Or are we all just bandying around the same rumours …
