Smile line hyperpigmentation

Smile line hyperpigmentation

I’ve dealt with hyperpigmentation before, but nothing like this dark smile line. It showed up out of nowhere one day and has been extremely stubborn ever since. I’ve tried all the usual treatments (tretinoin, azelaic acid, hydroquinone, etc.) and nothing fully clears it. Sometimes it gets red and irritated, then the dark pigment comes right back.

Has anyone dealt with something like this? What is the cause of this dark smile-line and what helped? It’s really affecting my confidence.
What products can treat this?

[Product Request] Recommendation for stubborn smile-line hyperpigmentation

What products would be good for clearing very dark smile-line?
it showed up out of nowhere and I’m insecure about it.

I’ve used all the heavy hitters for hyperpigmentation: tretinoin, hydroquinone, azealic acid, kojic acid soap….you name it.
Nothing seems to work.

I really don’t understand why the hyperpigmentation on my smile line is so difficult to treat.
Has anyone ever dealt with this and if so, what products worked for you?
I’m open to lasers, fillers or any solutions.

Ps: my smile-line looks much darker in real life, it’s like someone drew a line with a pencil on my face.

Persistent dark smile-line mark on black skin- nothing works, seeking derm advice

Help. I’m desperate for answers.

I’ve had this stubborn dark mark on my smile line for a while, and nothing seems to get rid of it.
I don’t even know how it started, one day I just woke up and noticed it. Since then, I’ve tried almost every treatment for hyperpigmentation: azelaic acid, tretinoin, hydroquinone, and all the usual “holy grails.” I’ve been consistent for months, but it never fully goes away

What confuses me is that it doesn’t stay the same color. Sometimes it’s very dark, other times it turns reddish. It also feels sensitive and easily irritated, which makes me think it might be more than just regular hyperpigmentation.

Before anyone says “see a dermatologist,” I already did. I was told they weren’t very familiar with how certain conditions present on Black skin, which was discouraging and left me feeling even more lost.

I’ve tried everything and I still don’t know whats wrong. I don’t even know what triggered it, it wasn’t an injury or anything. It just appeared out of nowhere and has stayed ever since.
