Just watched “I Saw The TV Glow” What was your Pink Opaque? What piece of media did you want to escape into because it felt like where you were really from?
For me it was the movie Coraline. I watched it over and over again, often multiple times a day when I was a kid. I related to Coraline herself more than any other character at the time and would cry when I thought about how she wasn’t real. I didn’t know it back then but I think I saw a truer version of myself in her than the version of me I was living as at the time, just like Owen and Isabel.
