Public comments count — keep them coming
The federal government is shrinking public input on decisions affecting millions of acres of public land. That makes speaking up more important, not less.
"...But on July 3 of last year, five federal departments filed rules in the Federal Register that gutted their own environmental review regulations. Agriculture. Interior. Energy. Transportation. Defense filed twice. All six took effect the day they were published, with public comment invited afterward, if at all."
Guest columnist Will Pattiz from Writers on the Range.

Greeley Council Debates Combining Catalyst and Civic Campus in 0.5% Sales Tax Proposal
At the Aug. 11, 2026, Greeley City Council work session, council members debated whether Catalyst and the Downtown Civic Campus should be combined in the same ballot measure for a proposed 0.5% sales tax increase.
The question: If Civic Campus already has a funding source, should it be tied to a tax Catalyst needs?
The August 25th work session will include more conversation about the possible ballot measure. This will likely be a work session, meaning there will be no public comment on the issue at that time.
