Entering CNC industry.

Hello y'all!

I need you to be brutally honest with me.

I'm 44yo woman with solid IT background and experience in IT in industrial setting (big industrial site, integrations with OT), enterprise IT, etc. I'm a bit stuck in dead end IT job right now, and I started poking around. Job market in my field really sucks in my area, like really. Some CNC jobs leaked to my search results, and like I'm ok with taking a class and all and start all over because it looks like pay is ok even at the beginning, there are ways to improve, develop, and being challenged by going into CNC programming later.

What are my chances of getting a job after a 210h class for CNC machine operator? I learn really fast, I can work with a lot of power tools, and I'm not worried about manual job because I do enjoy manual workshop work a lot - part of why I'm stuck in dead end IT is because I want to play with my toys forever, and I'm good at it, not be a project manager, lol. I'm also not scared of big machines, and I absolutely love them all. I'm very familiar with mechanics, I build electronic devices as a hobby, and 'old dudes' in all kinds of workshops usually like me because we can nerd about machinery easily.

My plan is to take the machinist 210h class, hopefully get a job while still at school, even part time, and while mastering the art of cnc, start the cnc programming class, or just learn by working, and then in a span of 3-5 years (not sure if earlier is possible) get to programming. Is this a good plan? Will this work? I understand I'm sort of 'old' to start all over, but I still have solid 20 years of work ahead of me, and I'm not scared of learning difficult things. Is it worth a shot? I feel like in the worst case scenario I will just learn cool stuff.

fitting question

Hello!

I got my Jim Green Comp toe barefoot shoes. They are really cool, but I think they are also too big.

I got size 8 because I was worried 7 will be too small in a sense that I will hit the end with my toes. I read bazzyllion posts, and many people recommended to size up in case of doubts, so I did.

The shoes are lovely and spacious inside, I absolutely love them.

Question is: If my heel doesn't sit in the heal bed, but entire foot goes forward while walking, is it too big, or I need to tie them tighter, or what's about? Should I maybe exchange for a smaller size?

Hello! So... I have the worst washing machine ever, the Whirpool top loader with removable agitator and no detergent dispenser. There's a dispenser for bleach for cleaning it, though. I have to wash everything in deep water, otherwise things come out of the wash partly dry, in a sense they were never fully wet, lol. I believe it's the HE machine. I hate it, but I want to make it work. Our old front loader, which I liked died, and my lovely husband bought this atrocity unaware of how bad it is, so I really want to make it work.

Now, We don't really have issues with stinky clothes and such because we wash pretty much everything after one use, and we never use the fabric softeners. Since we got the machine a few months ago, we used either ECOS laundry sheets or ECOS free&clean fluid detergent. Clothes and sheets are fine, but I wanted to do better, so I got the 365 concentrated detergent with lipase.

Nothing dramatic happened, except all white stains from the deo came out on my black shirts 😃 It supposed to be not staining deo, and stains weren't there before I introduced lipase detergent.

I also just ordered a pack of the famous FEBU booster.

My plan is:
Normal wash in deep water and extra rinse with the 365 for everything, and 365 + a scoop of FEBU for sheets and towels. Then, 'quick wash' without any detergent, but 2 teaspoons of citric acid in lieu of a rinse. I know I can stop my machine, add citric acid, and start it again, but I'm not babysitting it.

Is this plan ok?

I've asked it on Jim Green's sub, but here there are more people I want to direct my question for, so I repeat my qestion 😄

Hey, so I hate my feet being tight in boots, but I want real boots, haha. There are no typical barefoot boots on the market, which would be actual boots, not just a fashion version of such. In past I was just wearing boots 2 - 3 sizes too big, lol, but that stopped in highschool, and also I want the flat zero drop sole without any arch support. My question is directed towards people who also hate having feet sqeezed, and who can splay toes in their shoes, not to people who are accustomed to squeezed feet.

I'm size 7ish in BFAR, but I want to get 8 to be able to splay my toes due to tapered end of the boot. My foot is 232mm/9.17inches long and 92mm/3.6inch wide. In 4 decades of my life, I've managed to not get bunions, and I want to keep it that way. Will BFAR 8 fit me? I ask because '3E fit' says nothing about actual width in any measurement unit. It would be really helpful if the actual internal width of the shoe was added to size table ❤️

I know about AnatomX, and I'd prefer it's shape, but I want that reinforced and shape holding tip of the BFAR. Also I really want to get the comp toe BFARs, but it's even more narrow than the BFAR (2E whatever it is in actual measurement units), and I'm worried my feet will get sqeezed. For now comp toe aren't available anyway for a long time - will they ever be? I will appreciate some guidance on it. TIA! ❤️
