Why is it called Newark Liberty International Airport? Does flying there give you liberty? Liberty to do what? Wait in line for hours?

Then you have Houston, with George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Hey, it isn't just an international airport! International airports take you to other countries, but they can take you to other continents. Whoop de doo.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. It's a harbor in the sky. Or a harbor that takes you into the sky. Or something like that, right?

Midway Airport in Chicago. What does that even mean? Is it the midway point between something? I looked this one up, it's named after the Battle of Midway which took place out in the Pacific Ocean during World War II. Of course that's a perfectly logical way of naming an airport in Chicago.

The airport in Springfield, Illinois is named Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport. I suppose he used to park his plane at this airport. I'm glad they recognized his contributions to the aviation industry and his support of airports by naming one after him.

Oh, and I recently flew into Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport. I wasn't aware that there are beaches in Florida, so good thing they put it in the name of the airport.

There was a young girl on the train this weekend by herself. Mom came on the train to drop her off at Irvine and then left. She got off on her own in San Diego and someone was waiting for her on the platform.

I'm wondering if there is any official policy on this? I would estimate she was 10 to 12.
