I got this preatty much full 2019 Batch bottle off eBay for an insane 200€. The bottle looks fine to me. The smell is undeniably Aventus (I have a 2020 bottle that I compared it to), but it is noticeably more citrus forwarded, not as much pineapple and smokier than my other bottle. I knew there are Batch variations, but I kinda chucked it of for a myth…
I will have to preface this by mentioning that Killian's Apple Brandy on the Rocks is in my top 5 of all time. And this Mawj Appletini just hits the nail right on the head, in ways I didn't even think possible.
To me they smell like 95% alike. The main difference being that the clone is a bit more of a sour apple and not as sweet as the OG, but it is negligible. Up close the OG is noticeably smoother, but in the air they are close, scary close.
The crazy part is that the clone performs better in preatty much every way. It lasts and projects for longer, it has a more noticeable sillage and all that at what, not even 30€ (and that's for 100ml of juice), all this while the OG costs 10x more and has an anemic performance.
Safe to say I'm not purchasing any by Kilian fragrance any time soon, hell with how good clones have gotten I don't really see myself spending more than 60€ for juice in general. Have to try more from this line.
I bought it a few months ago from ebay for a very good price. It was in very good condition when I got it, but since this is my first and only watch, it hasn't left my wrist since, so yeah, it got a few marks here and there.
Lately I've become a bit paranoid that it might be fake since it scratched up so easily, but it might be normal.
I have to start this by saying that I have not yet tried Absolu Aventus and that I bought CE because my bottle of Aventus OG is running low and I wanted to experience the smell more often but guiltfree.
So I went online to see what the newest and "best" Aventus clone is out there, because I've kinda tuned out from the fragrance game for the past 2 or so years. To say that this bottle is hyped would be the understatement of the decade and we're only half way trough it. Every influencer has been riding on this bottle since 2024 it seems, even reviews on here claim this is the best thing since sliced bread. So I thaught "Perfect", with so many people sucking this up, there has to be something to it. So I bought it, knowing full well that this is a dupe of Absolu and not the OG, because just how different can the Absolu be right? It's still Aventus at the end of the day, right?
Well, if this smells anything like Absolu does, then holy fagg, there is a big difference mate. This does NOT scratch the Aventus ich for me. It scratch a different ich, one that I didn't even know it needed scratching.
Big juicy, citrusy pineapple with some florals on the side in the opening, the kinda pineapple that gets you to order a refreshing drink in a Samoan pub. And the cool thing is, the pineapple sweetness stays during the drydown, even the morning after when you wake up, the pineapple is still there. In the drydown it trades the florals for some musk and a touch of smoke. I don't really get much wood.
All in all, I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised, even tho I didn't get my Aventus dupe. Oh nooo, guess I'll have to get another fragrance.
