Does cheese have anything to do with this hunt? Working hard on getting info together for my final BOTG in August. I think cheese might be a clue but I can’t put anything together on it. I thought maybe he liked the Cheesecake Factory but I can’t find the quote so maybe I’m misremembering.
Found this and others from the set in my last binder that I knew I had but couldn’t find. The only flaw I can find is in the back upper left the white dot from where the card was cut. There is also maybe some super small scratches on the holo? Either way check it out!
I’m debating whether to have this card graded. The only flaws I can see are the upper back left looks to have a white dot in the corner where the card is cut. And the front holo is excellent but maybe a small scratch or two I can’t really tell. Figured you guys would like it though. Ignore the upper back right corner, it’s fine but the lighting made it look weird. So send her to PSA or nah?
I didn’t want to hijack the other posters thread about a URL checkpoint. However I like the idea and have had an experience of my own that want to share more about because at this point I’ve exhausted BOTG searching in said areas with my small team. And yes I know I talked about this last month but rock debris said he needed more info and at the time I was not ready to divulge.
Let’s say you are BOTG and get to stanza 3. You are searching said area and come across a QR code. This URL leads to a website that is public, that in the said URL ends with a name that is extremely relevant to this hunt. In the web page itself, one of the first things you read is about double arcs and that portion, and that portion only is in bold! The same web page also takes you to other locations (ticket) near by which I’ve extensively searched and scanned with my team. We have come up with nothing. I will reveal as much as I can now that I’ve searched hard but reserve the right to be a little vague.
And I took your advice Randy, I reached out to Justin tonight! Hopefully I’ll hear something back but I doubt it.
Let’s say you are BOTG and you find a pickaxe. Odd thing is it’s old but has some blue duct tape on it. Would you be excited?
So I’ve been messing around with the free app some have suggested. I find a decent amount of these beacons everywhere. Thing is, in said app, there is no connect button next to the beacons. I have the hash and salt and whatever, but if I found one BOTG what would I do with it if I can’t connect it? Thanks
I have always thought the double omega is a pretty big hint. Recently I was thinking about Fenn rock and how that ended. So maybe the end or near end of this hunt is another large rock? Rocks are everywhere obviously and I try to check them out if they look suspicious. Just a thought.
After my last BOTG a few weeks ago, I’ll be heading out with my small team next week. Heading to a spot I’m very confident in as is my team.
Having said that and with the past month or so I’m keeping an eye out for a few things. Some kind of signal such as Bluetooth or radio, a Fenn type rock, something to do with his spray paint grass story, Tucker container, anything else?
Does anyone remember what the total hours for the countdown was when it started? I know it has to be at least 7 hours but could have been more.
I think I saw that someone said he uses this word 5 times in the book. I don’t think it’s a very common word to use at all. Any theories?
Let’s say in your search area you come across a QR code that is indestructible. It takes you to a public website and on the page is a word that relates big time to this hunt (sorry I have to be somewhat vague). On the same page it takes you to another spot not too far away that is public. You get there and can’t figure out what to do next. Would you be excited for a QR code that seems to imply it’s related to the hunt but then can’t figure out what to do next?
I see people saying some things that maybe I’m mistaken with, but fairly certain that some aren’t correct.
For the checkpoint stanza I believe that the quote was “at least halfway through” or at least stanza 3. To me this means anything from there on, not just stanza 3.
Additionally, I see people saying the must be BOTG must be double arcs because he said that stanza. But he never said where in that stanza.
This is where I believe there is confusion. People are saying that the checkpoint can be solved from home which yes that could be possible. But it is also possible that the checkpoint is at the very end due to the wording and therefore the checkpoint would be after BOTG. Am I way off base or do I remember correctly what he said?
The thing bothering me the most is the checkpoint. What realistically could it be? All week I’ve been BOTG and I’m always scanning for anything, but honestly I don’t know at all what I’m looking for. The only two things I can come up with that would make sense and be able to be hidden from non searches are a trail registry or a QR code that’s metal. It’s frustrating because in theory you could be right on the checkpoint but have no idea without knowledge of what it is. I’m at a loss on it.
On some of my BOTGs, if I come across a log book I always check to see if Justin is in it. I always think it’s a long shot but worth it. But thinking recently about it, maybe some kind of trail register could be the checkpoint? It’s both something that was there already and something he can modify. And non searches would have no clue who he is so it wouldn’t matter if they saw it. I think it would be clever but I’m seeing if anyone else has reason to think that there is no way it’s possible. I can’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be possible.
