So we had our landlords over finally and they confirmed what we already knew, our ceilings have 5 layers and odour passing through the walls is impossible. Our apartment is in great condition and is in no way the cause of all her issues.

Great, knew all that. They said they’ll get in touch with her, don’t know if it’s happened yet.

4 days ago my husband had a notification that the jeans he ordered on vinted were delivered. We hadn’t been home and it wasn’t anywhere in the stairwell or by the mailboxes. It’s normal where we live to deliver post to neighbours but usually those are then just placed in the entry way or we leave a note to each other.

My husband was about to open a dispute today, when the neighbours daughter dropped off the package at our door. OPEN. (I’ll attach a photo in the comments.) We are at a loss. We will be having mail delivered to the post office by our house now, but I can’t help but feel this is insane and shows more escalating behaviour!

So this morning my doorbell rings, I’m incredibly ill right now which was the only reason I was home. It’s my countries version of animal protective services…. They received an “anonymous tip” that our dog never leaves the apartment and goes to the bathroom in a litter box.

I let the two veterinarians up and they start taking pictures and filling out an entire report, checking teeth and vaccination records etc… I’m shocked but at this point not even really surprised anymore.

We obviously don’t have a litter box and our dog is well cared for. In fact so well cared for the vet was making jokes about the whole thing and complimenting me on my dental care. The case was closed with no cause for concern listed. The veterinarian even asked for my phone number so she can just call me if further reports are made.

The situation hasn’t progressed much apart from that. I’m still waiting for the rental agency to give a damn. They gave me an appointment that was 3 weeks after the incident date and then canceled.

We are seriously considering hiring a lawyer and filing a cease and desist. We have allowed this to go way out of control. I’m seething with rage. As an absolutely obsessed with her dog dog mom I literally have had nightmares about something like this happening before… subtle foreshadowing I guess..

Ich weis das in einer Berufsschulklasse viele verschiede Alter vorhanden sein werden. Dennoch kann ich nicht verstehen weshalb 17-21 jährige sich teilweise wie Grundschüler benehmen.

Jeden Unterricht kämpft die Lehrerin oder der Lehrer einfach ein Niveau von Ruhe und Aufmerksamkeit einzuhalten. Der Stoff geht zwischen dem ganzen verloren. Dann haben wir immer noch die Helden die Aufmerksamkeit brauchen und dämliche Fragen stellen oder die Antworten des Lehrers konstant in Frage stellen.

Wir sind nun mit den Lernfeldern so weit hinterher da jede Klassenarbeit wiederholt werden muss. (Freue mich schon einige selbstständig vor der Abschlussprüfung lernen zu müssen…) Zudem ist die Lautstärke ein lächerliches Niveau. Kann unter den Bedingungen manchmal nicht mal ein Gedanken formen.

Es stört so sehr das ich nach der Schule teilweise heulen möchte. Es ist einfach kindisch, peinlich und extrem unreif. Ich war auch mal in dem Alter und habe es hinbekommen mich nicht so wie ein Affen zu verhalten. Wir haben dieses Jahr einige von einer anderen Klasse dazu bekommen und das Problem ist sogar schlimmer geworden….

Bin einfach stink sauer und am Ende. Wie ist das so bei euch in der Klasse?

Zudem trotz den konstanten verbalen Mahnungen der Lehrer passiert nichts. Betriebe werden nicht angeschrieben.

I’ve got a huge problem with my neighbor, and I honestly don’t know how to handle it anymore.

It all started about eight months ago when she came to our door and said her apartment smelled like smoke. My husband and I do smoke, but we never smoke inside the apartment, only on the balcony. (Where I live this is allowed, it would even be allowed inside but we choose not to for many reasons.) We told her that, but she didn’t believe us.

I gave her my phone number and asked her to contact me if she noticed the smell again. She never used my number. Instead, she came back another time and claimed that the smoke was causing health problems for both her and her daughter. I invited her into our apartment so she could inspect and smell the room directly underneath her daughter’s bedroom for herself. She refused. I also offered to have the landlord come and inspect the apartment.

Eventually we started believing it couldn’t possibly be coming from us, because she claimed she smelled strong smoke on days when we had been away from home all day.

Then, for about four months, we didn’t even see her. The next time we ran into each other in the stairwell, everything seemed completely fine. She was friendly and even mentioned that she’d gotten new carpet and that the smoke problem had improved.

So we were really surprised when she showed up at our door again yesterday. This time, however, the accusations had changed. She said she’d just returned from vacation, opened her balcony door, and was immediately “attacked” by a strong body odor. From there, the situation escalated quickly.
She started shouting throughout the entire stairwell that we should be ashamed of ourselves, that we don’t shower, that we have poor hygiene, that we don’t wash our clothes, and that we disgust her. She genuinely believes that, in our old apartment building with high ceilings—where you can’t even hear people walking upstairs—our body odor somehow travels up through the ceiling into her apartment.

One thing that’s worth mentioning is that we had already lived here for two years before she ever complained about any smells. Nothing about our lifestyle has changed. If anything, we’re home less now than we were during those first two years.

Now I’m sure every neighbor in the building has heard her shouting that I apparently don’t shower, smell bad, and wear dirty clothes. Until this latest incident, I had always tried to be kind and understanding because I thought she was simply worried about her daughter. But now that she’s resorted to publicly insulting us, I don’t know what to do anymore.

I’ve already contacted my landlord and asked him to come inspect the apartment and provide written confirmation that there are no signs of indoor smoking, mold, or anything else that could explain these complaints. From now on, I’ll also be avoiding any contact with this neighbor. If she comes to my door again, I won’t be opening it.

Over the past month we’ve had three different guests stay with us, and we specifically asked them to be completely honest if there was any smell in our apartment that we might have become nose-blind to. Every single one of them said they noticed nothing unusual.

So I’m wondering: how would you handle a situation like this? And do you think it’s even physically possible for a body odor to travel that far and remain that strong?

Es startete, nachdem sie vor acht Monaten vorbeikam und uns sagte, dass ihre Wohnung wie Rauch roch. Wir sind zwar Raucher, aber nicht in den Innenbereich der Wohnung, wir haben ihr dies auch gesagt, aber sie glaubte uns nicht. Ich habe ihr meine Telefonnummer gegeben und hab sie gebeten, sich bei mir zu melden, sollte sie noch mal Gerüche empfinden. Meine Telefonnummer hat sie nicht verwendet, aber sie kam dann noch mal vorbei und meinte, dass ich ihr und ihrer Tochter gesundheitliche Probleme gebe. Ich hab sie gebeten, in meine Wohnung zu kommen in den Raum unter dem Raum ihrer Tochter, um diesen selber zu besichtigen und zu riechen. Dies hat sie abgelehnt. Ich habe ihr ebenfalls angeboten, den Vermieter vorbeikommen zu lassen, um die Wohnung zu prüfen.

Wir fing an zu glauben, dass es auf keinen Fall an uns liegen konnte, weil sie meinte, starke Rauch Gerüche empfunden zu haben an Tagen, wo wir ganztägig nicht zu Hause waren.

Vier Monate haben wir sie nicht mal im Treppenhaus gesehen, haben sie dann gesehen und es war alles eigentlich gut. Sie war freundlich, hat gemeint, dass sie neuen Teppich hat dass das Rauch Problem besser geworden ist.

Deswegen waren wir gestern extrem komisch, sie mal wieder klingeln zu haben. Dieses Mal aber mit großen Vorwürfen, dass sie eben vom Urlaub zurückgekommen wäre, ihre Balkon Tür geöffnet hat und dass der ein starker Körpergeruch sie attackiert hat. Daraufhin wurde es wilder und wilder. Sie fing an zu schreien, durch das ganze Treppenhaus, dass wir uns schämen sollten, dass wir nicht duschen, dass wir schlechte Hygiene haben, dass wir unsere Klamotten nicht waschen und dass wir sie ekeln. Sie meint in unsere Altbauwohnung mit hohen Decken, wo man nicht mal nach oben laufen hört, das Gerüche durch die Decke von unserem Körpergeruch in ihre Wohnung hoch fließen.

Etwas, was ich auch erwähnen möchte, ist das für zwei Jahre in der Wohnung gelebt haben, bevor sie jegliche Gerüche erwähnt hat. Wir haben nichts anders gemacht. Wir sind eigentlich mehr außerhalb der Wohnung, als wir in den zwei Jahren davor waren.

Nun hat bestimmt jeder Mitbewohner in meiner Wohnung gehört, dass ich anscheinend nicht dusche und ekelhaft bin und dass meine Klamotten riechen und dass wir riechen. Davor war ich immer nett und höflich, da sie sich nur um ihre Tochter Sorgen gemacht hat und uns nicht beleidigt hat. Jetzt hab ich keine Ahnung, wie ich mit der Situation vorgehen soll. Ich habe meinem Vermieter geschrieben und diesen gebeten vorbeizukommen um die Wohnung zu besichtigen und dann schriftlich aufzunehmen, dass meine Wohnung keine Rauchspuren oder Schimmelspuren hat. Ich werde nun auch jeglichen Kontakt mit der Nachbarin vermeiden. Sollte sie noch mal in meiner Türe klingeln werde ich nicht öffnen.

Wir hatten in dem letzten Monat drei Besucher, die bei uns blieben und haben diese gebeten uns ehrlich zu sagen, ob irgendwelche Gerüche in unserer Wohnung sind, die wir nicht mehr riechen können. Kein einziger hatte diese gerochen.

Wie würdet ihr mit dieser Situation umgehen? Und findet ihr es überhaupt möglich das Geruch so weit reisen in der Stärke?
