Polar Strawberry Lemonade: Great strawberry flavor. Going to be honest, but I really couldn’t tell the difference between this one and Strawberry Watermelon. Maybe slightly more sour, but honestly, I really couldn’t tell. Love, love, love the can. I normally not someone who gets influenced by the whatever the drink is packaged in, but this one was really, really pretty. I think if I saw this in the regular grocery stores I’d be tempted by the outside alone.

Gerolsteiner: Also great. I absolutely love good plain flavored sparkling water, and this one was pretty fantastic. Definitely a little saltier tasting than some I’ve tried, but good nonetheless. It does have less bubbles than some of the ones out there. Definitely less than Topo Chico or Polar, but still really good. Also, I left it out for an hour after I first had it, and it still tasted pretty crisp. So I definitely recommend.

Really, really good! It tastes just like Trader Joe’s Black Cherry Vanilla (is it the same under a different label??) Doesn’t taste like medicine at all. Very sweet. I like this more Polar’s other cherry flavors.

I also like it more than Waterloo’s,Rambler’s,and Whole Foods brand cherry seltzers/mineral waters. Jury’s out on Nixie’s (Nixie’s cherry flavor is really, really good). I’ve only tried La Croix’s Cherry lime flavor twice, and it makes cherry medicine taste really good in comparison. I mean who the heck makes their Cherry lime drink.. lime forward with just a hint of a perfume-y aftertaste. I can’t even say it was a cherry perfume.

In conclusion, I highly recommend Polar’s Vanilla Cherry Kiss, but if you can’t find it, Trader Joe’s Black Cherry Vanilla is basically the same.

So on an earlier day, I reviewed a drink that had hibiscus as one of the flavors, and my God, the hibiscus had basically decided to declare itself emperor of that drink.

Thankfully Nixie’s Strawberry Hibiscus is very different.

Strawberry is the main flavor, and it pairs very well with the hibiscus. It makes for a sweet but not borderline too sweet taste (like Polar’s Strawberry Crème). There is just a tiny, tiny hint of hibiscus, and I’m thankful that Nixie knew a hint would be enough. Definitely great for the summertime.

Only drawback I can see to this drink is kinda a silly drawback, but for some strange reason , the aluminum can, to me, seems to feel thinner than some of the other sparkling water companies.

Overall though, I love this drink and would recommend, even with the pricier price tag.

To be fair before I start, I hadn’t tried this earlier because of the price tag. I read that St Celia’s is a women owned business, uses organic ingredients, and only produce small batches. They do have a pretty cute image on their cans. But… I could not reasonably justify buying a FOUR!! pack for close to eight dollars. It’s flavored water, not flavored gold. However, it finally went on sale at a price I could justify buying it once. At least to review it.

The results: Confusing and definitely not worth buying it at full price.

I subscribe to the Barney Gumble theory that if I am going to spend so much extra money on an item, it has to be the best damn item I’ve ever had. This…this was not that.

It’s not horrible, but the flavor is muddled at best. It’s supposed to be Hibiscus, Lime, Serrano AND Lavender flavored, but in practice, I think the hibiscus takes over most of the drink. I definitely don’t taste the Serrano. Funnily enough, I was expecting lavender to be the top flavor, but I barely taste it, only sometimes as an aftertaste. As a positive note, the bubbles are decent, but definitely not Waterloo or Polar strength.

In conclusion, multiple flavors can work pretty well together, i.e Waterloo’s mixed Berry, Polar’s Blackberry Mango, and LaCroix’s strawberry peach. But not here.
I do think it might benefit St Celia’s to focus on fewer flavors so they can make them taste amazing enough to justify the price point.

I mean I get annoyed enough with fake pockets, but fake button holes?! It’s so ridiculous. It would have literally taken the people two seconds to make them real. It’s not the biggest deal, but it’s definitely mildly infuriating.

So as a kid I used to drink the soda version of this until it disappeared from the stores for awhile. Now, I don’t drink sweetened beverages, and I’ll admit I’m always a bit sad when I come across a post mistaking the sparkling water beverage for sparkling water. Sad because I do sometimes miss the taste of the cherry flavor.

Well, imagine my surprise when I was at Central Market in Plano and saw this. No, it’s not cherry flavored, but it is sparkling water!! !! I literally double checked the label like four or five times.

As for how it tastes, pretty good. It’s not as good as Polar, Waterloo, or Topo Chico; however, I think its freshness holds its own. Definitely like it more than Saratoga and San Pellegrino. This was plain flavored, but I think they also have a grapefruit and lime.

In conclusion, pretty good. They should definitely make more.
