Is anyone else slightly disturbed by some of the discourse surrounding the show?

By this, I mean calling half man a "dark romance", hinging their enjoyment of the show on whether or not the guys fuck (and wanting them to) or making weird sexual comments about "ooo the way they look at each other! Can't wait to see them finally consummate!"

Mainly on twitter, which is not surprising in the least. Am I missing something here? I understand that there likely is some form of sexual tension between them, but for me, this is first and foremost a deep dive into internalised homophobia, toxic masculinity, the effects of abuse, and cycles of abuse.

Unless I'm completely misreading it- but I don't think I am. It feels a bit icky to me.

Can't listen to willing and able without tearing up

Fuck this song (with love!) I know its about family, but all I could think about was a conversation between young anorexic, alcohol-addicted undiagnosed autistic me and strong healthy mom present day me and it just makes me sob. I wish she could know me.

She'd think I was an up myself asshole- but I know she'd be proud of me all the same. It feels like learning to forgive yourself- even it takes fights, fists and anger to eventually surrender.

*cries*

How do you guys think it's gonna end?

My main theory is that in the barn, Niall kills Reuben in self-defence, then takes his own life- or it could be that but vice-versa. I've just got a bad feeling that Niall is also dead. I wonder if the Romeo and Juliet reading was a bit of foreshadowing? I wonder if Reuben is actually dead? (Probably, seeing as they usually check a pulse).

How would y'all see Will in s4 and beyond, theroretically?

I have seen so many conflicting opinions on this, and I find it interesting.

  1. Imo, Will would struggle hugely with accepting his dark side- possibly even to the point of falling into self injury and addiction.

  2. Will would find it far easier to kill the worst of humanity rather than innocents.

  3. Will would probably try to kill Hannibal again- or at least threaten to do so.

  4. That said, I do think there would be a blistering honesty between Will and Hannibal- they no longer have anything to hide. No more lies, and no more secrets.
