I’m gonna take one for the team and buy The Last Samurai on Blu-ray.
I’m tired of waiting for The Last Samurai to be released in 4k, so I’m buying the Blu-ray. Get ready for it to come out in 4k in the next 6-8 weeks. You’re welcome.

I initially only bought movies that I felt I would be most likely to rewatch at least every year or two. Then I started buying new movies that I hadn’t seen before because they didn’t cost much more than renting on streaming, the quality was better, and you get to keep the movie.
Now, I’m starting to buy for the sake of preserving my favorite movies, even if I think I’ll probably only watch them once after I first get them and then not again for a long time. However, this criteria is leading to an Amazon wishlist that is growing faster than I can afford to keep up with.
