Hi all - how is the job market in Charlotte these days? More accurately, which industries are thriving in Charlotte?

Quality Internet AT&T Air

Has anyone tried att air for their home Internet? I'm seeing a special for 40 bucks a month, which is highly attractive. The big gotcha to me it seems is that it's a cellular box, meaning that tower placement is a big deal. Not sure how ATT is in Detroit.

Anyway, feedback is welcome.

Any good all you can eat buffets left?

Just looking for an all you can eat buffet. I remember enjoying them quite often in the 90s and early 2000s. Especially Chinese ones. Curious if something like that still exists.

Goldie Howe Bridge

Just curious if anyone is planning on driving the GHB after its opening at noon today. They're opening it for vehicles only and then pedestrians and bicyclists on August 3rd.

Interesting to see what kind of an economic uplift it will bring to Mexican Town.

I no longer enjoy being a Detroit resident

Been in Detroit since 2020 after spending 3 years fixing up from 2017. It was a nice run, but looking to get the heck out due to backyard breeders, non-stop music from newly arrived roommates of a neighbor being played on the front porch, backyard dogs who bark the entire night because "let it be the neighbors inconvenience than ours".

Initially the thought was to consider another neighborhood in Detroit that is more spacious, quiet, but that came to a grinding halt when I looked at how much I'd pay in property tax at the current market value. Plus of course the income tax.

I can't help but wonder how many other people have been through a similar situation.

Smoking smaller cuts of lamb

Hey folks, I'm on the fence between slow cooking lamb versus smoking it. If I were to smoke it, what would be the rule of thumb for smaller cuts? 225f until 200f internal? That's where I'm confused because they're smaller side leg cuts and I don't think a probe would be all that accurate.

Would I better off smoking them for 8 hrs, basically not cooking to temperature. If the smoker is set to 225, the meat itself is probably unlikely to reach internal temperature higher than 210 due to inherent temp loss. Or is all I'm saying pure malarkey? Thanks!

Bicycle repair place

Hi all - I'm looking for a good affordable bicycle repair place. Basically I got a couple of older bikes that need brakes and new tires. Nothing big. Been sitting for a few years collecting dust, would like to get them sorted out.

Ford / GM / Penske pushing for car repair lockdown

Turns out Ford, GM and Penske went to the White House asking to make it illegal for anyone outside of the approved dealer network to work on the car.

Obvious question arises, who truly owns the car? Also, why should incompetence and greed of manufacturers and their dealers be handled to give them an anti-competitive advantage.

Dealers lost a lot of car repair market share to independent mechanics through poor quality work, long wait times, and outrageous prices charged. Now rather than win market share back on merit, they're attempting to alter the law. Insane. Absolutely peak lack of ethics.

Where to buy nematodes

I am looking looking to prevent mosquitoes in my garden and was curious if there are stores in or around Detroit that sell nematodes. Amazon carries them, but it's a 15 dollar delivery charge. 5hanks
