One small habit made Gemini Notebook much more useful for me

I stopped treating Gemini Notebook like a chatbot and started treating it like a project workspace. Instead of asking random questions, I upload my PDFs, notes, and trusted sources first—then ask it to compare, summarize, or find connections.

The answers have been much more accurate because everything stays in context.

What's one workflow or prompt that made Gemini Notebook click for you?

What's your biggest AI habit that saves you time?

Mine is asking AI to summarize long PDFs before I actually read them. It doesn't replace reading, but it helps me know what to focus on.

What's one investing lesson you wish you learned earlier?

I'm just starting to learn more about investing and the finance industry. What's one lesson, mistake, or piece of advice you wish someone told you when you were starting out?

I got paid to make Spotify playlists for coffee shops

A neighborhood café wanted playlists that matched different times of day. I spent hours curating music instead of working behind the counter.

What's one AI feature you tried that you thought would be useless but now use almost every day?

For me, I originally thought AI would mostly be for writing.

Now I use it for brainstorming, summarizing long articles, debugging code, planning trips, comparing products, and even organizing study notes.

It's funny how the features I expected to use the most ended up being the ones I use the least.

What unexpectedly became part of your daily workflow?

My experience using SideShift as a UGC creator

I've had a positive experience using SideShift so far. The platform is easy to navigate, and the campaign instructions are usually clear and straightforward. One thing I've learned is that following the brief closely and submitting quality content on time really helps. If you're just getting started, take time to read the requirements before applying and don't be afraid to start with smaller campaigns. I'm still learning, but it's been a good way to gain experience and improve my UGC skills.

Birthday Week + First Solo Trip 🇹🇭✨️

Hi everyone!

I'm (26F) planning to do a solo trip to Thailand to celebrate my birthday by myself! I'm thinking of going during the 3rd or 4th week of November. It'll also be my first time traveling out of the country, which is both exciting and a little nerve-wracking! 🫠

I'm still a student in the Philippines, but I'll have almost two months of vacation, so I figured this would be the perfect time to finally take my first international trip. I'm thinking of staying for about a week!!

I got really excited when I found out about the Lantern Festival because it's been on my bucket list for years 🥹 Unfortunately, I checked last week and it looks like all the tickets are already sold out!! 😭💔

I don't really want to stay in just one city the whole time. I get bored pretty easily if there's not much to do, so I'm totally open to traveling around Thailand and visiting multiple places if it makes for a better experience.

I'm currently thinking of flying into Suvarnabhumi airport since I've read that it's the most convenient airport for transportation and getting around Thailand. Feel free to correct me, please.

Since I have no itinerary yet, I'd love your recommendations!

• If you only had 7 days to introduce someone to Thailand, where would you take them?

• Which cities are worth visiting, and which ones would you skip?

• What's a good route or itinerary if I want to visit more than one city?

• Are the beaches worth visiting in November? If the weather isn't ideal, I'm totally okay skipping the beach this trip and focusing more on food, sightseeing, cafes, markets, and exploring different cities instead

• Is Pattaya actually worth visiting for a first-time traveler, or is it mostly known for the nightlife? I've heard mixed opinions

• What are your absolute must-do experiences in Thailand that every first-time visitor should try?

• And of course...food recommendations!!! ☺️ I love Thai food, but I've only had Thai food here in the Philippines 😁 what dishes, desserts, street food, drinks, or restaurants should I absolutely not miss? I'm a bit of a picky eater, but I'm always willing to try authentic local food at least once.

• Any tips for a first-time solo female traveler?

• What are some common tourist mistakes, scams, or cultural etiquette I should know about?

I enjoy good food, sightseeing, nature, beaches, cafes, markets, and unique experiences. I also don't mind checking out the nightlife, not necessarily to party hard, but I'd love to grab a drink, meet new people, and have fun conversations (and if I happen to meet some cute guys along the way, I definitely won't complain 😂). I've heard a lot about Pattaya, so I'm curious if it's actually worth visiting or if there are other places you'd recommend instead.

I'm probably overthinking this 😂 hehe but since it'll be my first trip abroad, I'd rather ask a bunch of questions now than realize I planned everything poorly once I'm already there.

I'd really appreciate any recommendations, hidden gems, food spots, safety tips, or general advice. I'd especially love to hear your favorite places, routines, or experiences in the city. Even something as simple as "Go here at sunrise," "Don't miss this street after dark," or "Skip this and do this instead" would be super helpful. I'd love to experience the city beyond the usual tourist recommendations.

Thank you so much!! 🤗💖

Master's in Thailand for a Filipino MedTech?

Hi everyone!

I'm (26F) a Medical Technology (Medical Laboratory Science) student from the Philippines. After graduation and passing the board exam, I plan to become a licensed Medical Technologist and eventually work as a Drug Testing Analyst (DTA). My long-term goal is to build a career in forensic science, particularly in forensic toxicology or a crime laboratory.

I've been rethinking my long-term plans recently after some major personal changes. My original plan was to build my future somewhere else with my then-bf, but life doesn't always go as planned. Now I'm trying to reassess my options and figure out what's best for my career.

One option I've been seriously considering is pursuing a master's degree in Thailand. It's relatively close to home, the tuition seems more affordable than in many other countries, and I've always been interested in experiencing life there.

However, I'm not sure if this would be a good career move, especially with my long-term goals in mind 😥

I'd love to hear your thoughts:

• Would studying for a master's in Thailand be worth it for someone with my goals?

• What master's program would you recommend (Forensic Science, Forensic Toxicology, Analytical Chemistry, or something else)?

• Are there good universities in Thailand for this field?

• Would a Thai master's be useful if I later wanted to work in USA, Singapore, or another country?

• If you were in my position, what would you do?

I'd really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Khop khun khâ!

Gift ideas for my ex

My ex's birthday is coming up (we're friends, don't worry 😂), and he'll actually be visiting me here from the US soon, so I wanted to get him something golf-related since he's really into golf hehehe.

I was originally thinking of getting personalized golf balls with his initials on them, but do golfers actually like receiving those? Or do they tend to get lost so quickly that it's not really worth it?

I'm currently considering a driver head cover instead, but I'd love to hear other gift ideas from actual golfers. What's something practical, useful, and appreciated that golfers would genuinely enjoy receiving?

Bonus points if it's something that can be personalized.

Also, if you know any good golf shops, online stores, custom makers, or sellers around Metro Manila, please let me know! 🙏🏼

Not because I'm trying to win him back.....but if the gift is good enough to make him reconsider, I won't complain 🤭😂

Edit: Budget is around ₱15k–20k (is that enough? 😭). Also, he already has a pretty complete golf setup, which is why I'm struggling to think of what to get him in the first place 😭
