THROWBACK: I'm so glad they completely got rid of this drop mechanic...

I still vividly remember the pain of trying to build a new Sumeru character, only to realize that throughout my entire Sumeru exploration, I had never used a Burning team even once. Which meant I had to go farm those cursed mushrooms from scratch... 😭

So honestly, I'm pretty happy they never brought this mechanic back in later nations. Then again, maybe that's just a me problem.

What about you guys? Would you like to see this mechanic, or maybe some other forgotten mechanic make a comeback?

Imagine if we got a brand-new collab character for the potential Genshin Impact Switch 2 release...

With all the rumors going around about Genshin finally coming to the Switch 2, wouldn't it be pretty cool if we got another collaboration character like Aloy back when the game launched on PlayStation?

That said, I'm not getting my hopes up too much. When Genshin came to Xbox, all we got was a collaboration glider, so the chances of a full character collab probably aren't great. Still, there's no harm in dreaming a little, right? 😭

Let me have my copium for a moment.

I'd honestly love to see a spin-off about Steven's journey across the country, inspired by Kino's Journey.

As the title says, we know that at the end of the series, Steven leaves Beach City behind and sets off on a road trip across all 39 states to figure out who he really is. And honestly, that direction opens up so much storytelling potential.

I'd be really excited if they ever decided to make a spin-off centered around Steven's travels. Imagine Steven meeting all kinds of different people, finding himself in all sorts of situations, and gradually learning what it truly means to be human. Not just the beautiful parts, but also the messy, complicated, and sometimes darker sides of humanity. Through those experiences, Steven could better understand what kind of person he wants to become and how he wants his human side to grow moving forward.

As much as I'd enjoy seeing more Gem-related stories, a part of me actually hopes a spin-off like this would focus almost entirely on humans. Their simplicity, their complexity, their kindness, their flaws. I think understanding those things would be just as important for Steven's personal growth as anything involving Gems.

And honestly, most of Steven Universe's audience has grown up alongside the show by now, so I wouldn't mind if a series like this took on a slightly more mature or even darker tone.

What do you think about this idea?

One of my many hopes for the upcoming Snezhnaya arc is for this goth girl to finally make a comeback.

It's been almost 3 years since (some of) us first saw this insanely gorgeous Fontaine goth girl, and then she just... completely vanished from existence 🫠

I still remember how people used to speculate that she would be an Overloaded-focused character (which eventually ended up becoming part of Chevreuse's kit instead). In any case, unless this design was completely scrapped as a beta concept, there's always a chance it could return someday.

So who knows? Maybe (copium warning) we'll finally see this design make its way back into the game during the Snezhnaya arc 😭🙏

Or hey, I'd happily settle for a Miliastra skin too. Pleeeeease Hoyo 🙇

TIL Tighnari Is The Only Genshin Character So Far Designed by an Outsourced Artist

And that artist was the Japanese illustrator pako, who also designed a bunch of characters across the Fate franchise.

Honestly, back then Hoyo’s 3D model didn’t fully do justice to the vibrancy and uniqueness of pako’s original 2D design. I think that’s partly why a lot of people felt Tighnari looked kinda messy or out of place when he first came out. If Tighnari had released during the Natlan era, when character models started becoming much more detailed and visually complex, things honestly might have turned out differently.

But with how Genshin character designs have been getting more criticism lately, especially people saying designs are becoming too same-y, I wonder if Hoyo would ever give outside artists another shot.

Personally, I really liked Tighnari’s design back then because it felt genuinely unique compared to the rest of the cast. I’d love to see the game keep experimenting more and give us more characters with bold, unconventional designs that stand out from the crowd.
