tell me it gets better
So I’m 16F and have been suffering from these eye-splitting migraines for the past 4 years. I have been to the gp countless of times yet I’m always met with “are you on your period?” “Do you drink enough water” “how is your posture at school” and no real follow up apart from “make sure to keep a diary”. The only real pattern I’ve noticed is that my migraines are paired with very tender traps and the muscle at the base of your neck? And my headaches ease when they ease.
Over the counter painkillers do not even TOUCH the sides, naps make me feel worse when I wake up, not to mention school is sometimes unbearable and with being in the middle of my GCSEs at the moment, these migraines are really not helping to say the least.
The problem is I wake up with these migraines atleast 3 times a week at this point however today has been particularly bad. I have done some googling (not self diagnosing or anything) and I read about something called a cervicogenic headache? And my symptoms seem to be very similar. Can these be cured and should I push to see someone else? I honestly feel hopeless at this point and I’m worried that my quality of life has already been ruined and I’m only 16.
